Thank you very much. I did not know that about LINE6!
So I checked it out. Very frustrating to find the special manual that has info on the pattern tremolo..but eventually I found it and…..it’s based on the goatkeeper that is limited to 4/4. It has rests fortunately and can be midi synched…that’s very good. And I imagine that if you could skip the last beat, you could have 3/4,2/4 and 1/4.

But is still limited. No odd meters that can go beyond 4 beats. Boss’s canned patterns can extend to 16 beats at times. Maybe I could ask LINE6 for one of their software updates, but I don’t see how they could pull it off, with their 5 knob pedal structure.

hmmm maybe I’m wrong and it IS possible:
    KNOB1: Speed.
KNOB2: Total beat number 1-16, OR even better 1-32
    KNOB3: Select beat for edit
    KNOB4: Select pulse type
    KNOD5: Select mute or skip

Your right about TC electronics, but do they have a programmable tremolo yet? I don’t know.

    Again thanks!

    UPDATE 2
SOURCE AUDIO answered confirming my impression on reading the C4 manual.
    This is their answer:

    “Hi Dimitrios,

Thank you for reaching out. Rests are not currently possible, but we may implement them with a later firmware version. Thank you for your feedback. Noted! :)

    Best regards,

Smart people these guys. And since you can midi sync the new C4 pedal…..IF they actually implement rests they will have a very serious product.

    UPDATE:
SOURCE AUDIO introduced its C4 synth with an sequencer. YES It gives you up to 16 beats…in other words you can do odd meters. YES you can create melodies like an arpeggiator.

BUT can you insert silent beats?……I mailed them this question and waiting for an answer…because the manual says nothing about silencing a beat. You just adjust the beats pitch…. SO probably………………….. NO!

For me this a Fail and a rather big one. Why? wELL….. because its in the digital domain and easy to do….and INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT TO BE ABLE TO HAVE SILENT BEATS TO CREATE A RYTHM.

too bad SOURCE AUDIO….you were sooo close! and what wonderful sounds! Allot of love and effort was obviously put in this otherwise marvelous product and they have my respect.

EHX PLEASE make something better and learn from the mistakes of others!
    Thanks!

Electrically, what you suggest should work with the correct Y-cable.

Provided that *all* the expression sockets are CV compatible.

    Perhaps do further experiments.

an AB box is electrically the same as a Y-cable…just more plugging

Thanks for your comment. It gives me the opportunity to clarify things for those that need it. First of all, your provision that all expression sockets should be CV compatible to use a Y cable, is null because usually expression inputs of guitar pedals take stereo jacks, so no CV anyway. But lets say you had a stereo in to 2 stereo outs Y cable, it wouldn’t work because each channel has to be isolated. SO simple abY box’s don’t cut it either. All those boxes in the market are usually mono in, mono out AND they aren’t isolated either. But since my post I found a box by a Company called “AMERICAN LOOPERS” that allows for one expression pedal to control 4 pedals. I communicated with them asking if they could add some features that would allow the same signal to be translated into different positions for each channel (maybe with a small 5 part dipswitch? OR a reverse function?-for each channel) But they told me they canceled their custom shop. I will probably get it anyway…it’s better than nothing…so there’s still a void there that only a company like EHX can fill.

I hope this helped to clarify things. ANd again thanks for the comment.

Pulsar with midi sync is a MUST for me.

But I would add pitch shifting ability for each beat.

Add multiple tremolo channels in parallel (or in series why not?)…lets say 2 or 3…..with different measures odd and even…..and multiples and divisions of midi synced tempo…..AND an insert loop….and you can make
a super psychedelic polyrythmic and polymetric BEAST!

    tHANKS!:coolhmm:
