I hope it’s not that. The whole console thing is sort of a cool idea for shops in that you can quickly demo a lot of things, but if I’ve got a delay module, trem module, and fuzz module- I want to be able to use them all at once, I don’t want to have to swap stuff in & out, whether practicing, writing, recording, jamming, or live.
January 19, 2012 at 3:56 am #116805CryabetesParticipantBut look at it this way – the big expense in pedal manufacture, especially at small scale is jacks, footswitches, etc. Changing out that for pin/cartridge systems is a huge money saver.
January 19, 2012 at 6:39 am #116807Mr.GrimMemberyeah and it may improve tone with the signal path as well, i admit i dont like the idea ether, but it may be cool if the main unit was large like the Carl Martin Octa-switch and could hold many circuits or “cartridges”. basically combining the idea of a pedal board, and a large multi bypass loop system, then all you need to add is whatever effect “cartridges” you want instead of pedals.
kinda like a multi effect unit like a Roland/Boss or Digitek meets Lego’s, only you choose what effects go in the unit, almost like being able to choose every exact tv channel you want on cable or satellite, and only paying for the ones you want instead of a complete package of crap you wont use half of.
but the thing is getting every manufacturer to get on board to make compatible “cartridges” and making it a universal system!
January 20, 2012 at 4:49 pm #116821julianModeratorFrom what I understand, EHX is just showing the stuff they released in 2011, and the new stuff apparently isn’t ready to be debuted yet.

If I knew what was coming I would forgo other purchases.,I’m sure it’s not. In the interview on youtube, he mentioned this & the upcoming FX line & a new bass big muff.
Graphicfuzz (who does graphic design at EH) also posted on harmony-central & alluded to it not being ready yet.
January 22, 2012 at 8:21 pm #116833ehxguy11MemberBummer it isn’t ready yet but I would rather they make sure it is perfect before releasing it. That said I would still like some info of what exactly they are planning on releasing.
