EHX do need to do something like the Malekko omnicron vibrato, but that runs at 18v or more doesn’t it? EHX seem adamant that all their new range be 9v. Still, a dedicated vibrato would be pretty cool. Rise, Rate and Depth controls and an expression out perhaps?

Have either of you actually put a muff into a pog? 😆

It looks like the Muff is “before” the pog physically, but the cables are going into a looper or something. I don’t know, but there’s no way the muff can be first.

Pog (or Pog 2) with dry, sub octave, +1 octave and +2 octave —> Big Muff Pi = Blue Orchid

The +1 octave is set a little lower than the dry and sub, and the +2 a little higher. I’d imagine on the record there’s a compressor at use aswell.

Big Muff into a Pog sounds awful 😆

I agree, The true bypass on my Big Muff is actually way worse than the buffer on my Tech 21 Boost RVB, so I guess it’s just a case of quality regardless of the idea that only “True” bypass doesn’t colour your tone, as alot of people are led to believe.

I’m confused by all the detail here.

Anyway, for what it’s worth I’ve owned a HOG and you can mess about with the control knob on the side of the expression pedal to make it detune half-steps and anywhere inbetween rather than a standard full step up or down…I think…if I remember correctly. Sorry I’m not being much help.

And for what it’s worth, I wasn’t that keen on the Micro Pog purely because of the fact that it only runs at 9v compared to the Pog’s 18v which allows for way more headroom.Which basically means you can get alot more volume which I find invaluable for boosting the sub-octave. The Micro Pog’s sub octave just doesn’t get high enough. I noticed the Pog2 is the same. Shame.

Thanks. I was just about to buy an unregulated one with various tip adaptors! I’ll have a little look around for regulated. Hopefully the tip compatibilty won’t be an issue or I’ll have to try the regulated one since I have a Hog coming in the post from America!

EDIT: What type of tip/barrel does the Hog supply have? Anyone got the measurements? That would be a help! And if anyone uses the ‘official’ Hog PSU the info on the lable would be much appreciated too!

Unless the Pog 2 has an expression out it will be pointless. Maybe one or two of the Hog’s main modes would be a nice extra, but it REALLY needs an expression out.

Yeah and the best part of it is that I can tweak 2 seperate type of tone, one for each amp.

Sound like more Big Muff with more sound definition…

It’s a good thing there’s a dry out on de BBM.

Sounds like a great idea. I’d love to hear clips of two muff’s through a baritone guitar and guitar/bass amp.

Seems like a pretty good application of the bass big muff too.

I was thinking of something comparable to the Digitech Whammy where the expression would simply increase the volume of your setting into the dry mix. I tried the Whammy out ages ago and though it really didn’t do much for me (and wasn’t polyphonic) I LOVED the actually whammy effect so it’s frustrating to think it probably won’t happen with a new XO Pog.

Actually, what about the filter settings of the Pog? I’ve found very little difference in tone between using all three, and only noticed a nice effect when you manually slide it up and down on 3, maybe another use for the expression? (Probably not as useful as the former though)

And, welcome to the EHX forums, Snufkin!

    Interesting…

As for the pedalboard issues, I’ve actually found it easier to place the older enclosures for a board, since the jacks are top-mounted.

I’m not so keen on it. I prefered the Modulation setting on the Boss RV-5, which is more of a subtle chorus than full-on flange, though each to there own. And it is pure EHX :)

Excellent sound clips! I’ve never been bothered about adding chorus to my Pog until now!

If it has a ‘gloss’ to it ala the XO Micro Synth, it’ll be great. I may even replace my standard Pog if they do this… which they probably will.
