What with the recent surge of XO/Nano pedals -most recently the Holy Grail- it’s probably inevitable that the Pog gets the same treatment, but it’s a shame it will probably just be a straight re-housing job, as it sorely needs an Expression Out to bridge the gap between the normal Pog and the Hog. And this isn’t beyond the realms of possibility is it? Because some of the XO’s do have little additions, don’t they? All I can think of is the addtional Stereo Out on the pulsar but there must be a couple more surely?

Anyway, if this happened, the XO Pog would be perfect

EDIT: Should have probably posted this in the ‘ideas’ forum. ‘Doh!

I second that idea on all counts.

Given the addition of the expression control on the XO Worm, I was a touch disappointed by the lack of a CV in on the XO Frequency Analyzer and the lack of a footswitchable Fuzz On/Off on the new Graphic Fuzz… Still, an updated POG would be cool – expression control over the sliders themselves would be great, where the slider’s position is the maximum setting and the expression fades the voices in ala the volume mode on the HOG.

OR: Have a single preset button, and then have the expression pedal fade between the current settings and the preset – allowing you to go from bass to organ with either a single click or a simple rock of the heel. This would totally jive in the larger XO boxes, like a new Micro Synth but with two stompswitches.

i would want to be able to swell in the wet signal and get a similar effect to the ‘mode 7’ of the boss ps-3

I was thinking of something comparable to the Digitech Whammy where the expression would simply increase the volume of your setting into the dry mix. I tried the Whammy out ages ago and though it really didn’t do much for me (and wasn’t polyphonic) I LOVED the actually whammy effect so it’s frustrating to think it probably won’t happen with a new XO Pog.

Actually, what about the filter settings of the Pog? I’ve found very little difference in tone between using all three, and only noticed a nice effect when you manually slide it up and down on 3, maybe another use for the expression? (Probably not as useful as the former though)

That’s the one I’d want- that sweep is very synthy and organic sounding. maybe another knob to choose btw octaves/filter?
