i think what your hearing is “self osculation”. many effects can do it, and sum people use it intentionally. its when the pedals controls are pushed beyond there use (even tho the controls were built to do that) and the unit begins to generate a noise of its own, without an input signal.

a good example of an artist using this “noise” or “self osculation” is in NIRVANA’s intro to “Radio Friendly Unit Shifter” and Curt actually used the same pedal a Poly Chorus, which i myself had stumbled upon as well by mistake one day.

unplug your input cable to the unit, and crank the controls like you had experienced the previous issue, and c if its still there without your guitar, if so what i mentioned above may be the case, if not maybe sum thing is wrong.

ahh thanks for the info! i thought they clearley helped show there age, but i was wrong, that may help to explain why my holier grail has the barrel knobs and my poly chorus has the pointer, and i thought they were about the same age.

hay electro-melx….what is the 1/4 jack on the top front left of your DRM16 for?

Stewart Macdonald makes a sweat tool just for this issue, and its safe to….it was originally made to remove knobs and bushings from guitars without harming the finish.

    hmmm..a bit confused…

i have a bunch of older EH pedals and for that ones age, why does it look like it has a newer type knob? is it correct for that model or was it a replacement?

my Y Triggered filter, and 2 The Silencer’s i have , have the old knob thats round but turn’s almost into a chicken head type, but my newer but still a bit old Small Clone and Dr.Q have the newer knob like that one, but i thought that unit was a bit older to have the other knob.

    anyhoo…..sweet find!!

ok this was my second ever post….and i still haven’t fixed this unit, i even purchased another one on ebay for twice the price i payed in first place! and it wasn’t much help ether. fixed/replaced the switch, but i still cant use the AC jack, at the moment i have one of those 9v battery adapters hooked up to it, then into my AC unit, so at-least it works that way…..but it don’t work well, on ether unit i have, the sound when the gate is engaged, “crackles” the signal in and out…..i assume that’s just because this is a vintage unit, and back then that was the best you were going to get….am i wrong?

wow i just checked this out and it is fuckin sweet! it would save a lot of time planning a pedal layout for people like me who have a ton of pedals and a large board, and its just plain fun to play with.

EH needs to get on board with them! please….all my pedal except 2 are all EH!
