The MicroSynth is only polyphonic using the guitar slider.
The other sliders are distortion circuits and work best mono.
The POG is a pitch shifter and the Microsynth is distortion/envelope circuits.
    Very different things!
Check out some on line video demos for a better idea of what they do.

    Thanks Richard
Well you have a great pedal start already.
I would add a Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai.
It has reverse effects, multi tap delay, reverb AND it is a 30 looper.
The looper lets you layer sounds and helps write songs and is a GREAT practice tool.
    Its my favorite!

Also the new Epitome pedal does a lot of different things:

Bill, really enjoyed this demonstration. Would love to think that I can pull this off in the future, however I am only just getting into using effects. I’m a fairly traditional player: guitar into OD, distortion boost for lead, into a clean channel valve amp. I also have a chorus/vibrato for juicing up my clean rhythm playing. I have an analogue delay that I use in the effects loop, on a minimal setting, turned on all the time.

I’d love to start to add some more unconventional effects for drama. As a technophobe, what would be your recommendation for the first new EH pedal for me to buy to add to my signal path. You have a lot of different pedals in this signal chain – which one would you recommend as a starting point to being able to be more creative?

    Thanks

    Thanks!
I ran the audio from a recording in to the Stereo memory Man so there was no need for a preamp.
Most microphones will need a preamp to bring the level up to what is needed.
A sure SM57 with a transformer might work, I am not sure.

Hi. On the off chance that someone is still following this older thread: first, *very* cool video; second, how did you feed a mic into the Memory Man? That is, was say a preamp required, or an XLR-to-guitar-cable-plug converter used? Is there some generalized way to (mis)use EHX guitar effects with microphone inputs?
    Thanks!

I will pass it along to the right people and they will find out whats up.

My experience with getting my 2880 Looper repaired has been a nightmare. Electro Harmonix’s customer service has been non existent. I left messages and emails for a week with nor reply, about sending in my 2880 Looper for repair. My 2880 just randomlly stopped working and also suffered from the non working factory USB issue. I was starting to think the company had gone out of business. Finally I got a hold of the operator, I called her back enough times to the point where I felt that I was harassing her. She eventually got me connected to someone who got me a RA# and told me the turn around time would be about two weeks, and it be back in my hands. It’s now been a month and a half, I have been leaving messages and sending emails, and I still have no idea what’s going on with my 2880 Looper. This makes me never want to buy from EHX again, as the pedals like the 2880, HOG, Memory Man, etc are sensitive to shock and trying to get one repaired is harder than passing a new law through congress. Needless to say the 2880 has been pulled from my live set, and all of my future EHX purchase will be heavily thought out before hand.

I am sure you will get a cool sound but it will be different than when using a HOG.
The HOG distorts when the input slider is pushed up.
This added a lot to the effect.
You could add a mild over drive in front of the POG to see if that helps.
    Good Luck!
