    Here’s my top 5:

    1. Beck
    2. Nirvana
    3. Led Zeppelin
    4. Sonic Youth
    5. The Rolling Stones

I have many (maybe not that many) more favorites that could be interchanged with some of my top 5, but you get the idea.

Funny, I actually posted Seasick Steve to the EHX blog a while back (I hadn’t heard of him before that, just liked his schtick and groove):

It’s fun to read down this thread — a lot of my faves are listed (though, imho, the funk/soul world remains underrepresented, so I’ll toss in: Parliament, Funkadelic, Sly & Family Stone, James Brown, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Frankin, etc.)

It’s also neat how many of these bands have iconic EHX connections (perhaps most obvious are Screaming Trees and Mudhoney, who named themselves or albums after EHX) — but, just from those listed above, there are plenty of obvious EHX connections to Beck, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marilyn Manson, Radiohead, ZZ Top, David Bowie, The Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins, White Stripes — and I’m sure you could help add more connections…

Don’t forget J Mascis, he’s based his whole sound around the Big Muff! :)

Yep yep. I can’t wait. It’s going to be the best album of the year. Unless Mission of Burma or the newly reunited Polvo release something. Thurston said it is going to have a mix of a Black Metal and Wipers influence. :D

well the first time I ever wanted an ehx pedal was after hearing superfuzz bigmuff by mudhoney, I think it was 1990 and a mate of mine’s girlfriend had it….it had such an impact on my musical taste!! (and pedal buying habits!!)

I have one of those Mudhoney Big Muff t-shirts too…. :)

I need to listen to more funk, soul, and motown. I like a lot of hits, but I haven’t found anything that moves me on an album basis.
