    WMD Super Fatman! Sick! :rawk:

awesome board… why two volume pedals?

Two parallel signal paths for layered sounds.

cool… what are the paths exactly if you can tell me? :) it’S really interesting

Right now, it goes like this:

–> Fulltone OCD –> Keeley Compressor –> TC Electronics Nova Delay ====> (path split to A and B)

    (A) –> Ernie Ball VP Jr –> T1M summing box input L1

    (B) –> Zvex Vexter series Box of Metal –> EHX POG –> Ernie Ball VP Jr –> WMD Super Fatman –> EHX Polychorus –> EHX Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai –> T1M summing box input R1

You’ll notice on the summing box that there are two unused inputs. Originally when I had the piece made, I was using a mini mixer on one channel so I could maintain the stereo image from the Polychorus/SMMH, but it added too much noise, so I had the summing box made. Unfortunately, with the way it was designed, it caused signal loading, so I’m not using it that way right now. I need to have a couple of buffer circuits built into the unit, and it should work correctly then.

I just love having layers of texture, and in stereo, no less (even if it’s not set up that way right now :().

    crybaby
    boss tu-2
    mxr dist 3

    have you ever tried it

    crybaby
    double muff
    tu2
    mxr dist 3

i hate the sound of wahs after distortion, i love it before, so perhaps thats just a personall thing, but with mine, i sometimes even use it after several pedals and works a treat, its more trebly if its anywhere but the front but as i said previously, i like it this way because when playing in the middle posistion on my gibson, it gives me the sound of the bridge which is awesome.

best thing to do is play with the muff and mxr swap them around, see which works best with them singlly and together stacked and so forth, then add the crybaby, and tbh it doesnt matter where you put the tu2 in my eyes, either first or last

let me know how you get on

i think i have an ocd for changing my board around, LOL
    the chain now goes
ehx white finger – ehx pog2- ehx big muff tone wicker – english muff’n – micro pog – stereo electric mistress – holy grail – DMM

    Hello All,
Here are my current pedalboards. The HOG & SMM are currently OTF ( On The Floor ) because my custom pedalboard ( the big guy with the vol pedal & other individuals ) is the the process of being revamped into probably a 2 level board. I’m still trying to get the layout in my head to make it all work plus take into account some new pedals I will be getting. I actually spend more time trying to figure all this stuff out rather then playing all these gadgets……
The HOG is my most recent acquisition & I am really enjoying getting my head around what it can do. I just put up an MP3 of a piece I am working on called “SpaceDreams#2”. Every sound is run through the HOG. Please go have a listen & let me know what you think.

I’m building an mxr distortion + (well based on it) pedal to replace the dm because when its not first in line it sounds utter shite with the wah off and on.

Unfortunately I had to sell my Micro Pog. :(

On it’s own it sounded great through my Vox AC30, but once I put in onto my pedal board, it absolutely killed my tone, and it sounded awful and tinny/hissy no matter where I placed it.

I spent the money I got for that on a WORM pedal, and that sounds brilliant on my board. It paricularly likes my Janglebox compressor. :)

les paul special w/p-90’s, or sonex-180 w/zebra humbuckers
modtone tuner > soul preacher > lpb1 > fulltone ocd > stereo pulsar > carbon copy
into crate vintage club 20, or fishman loudbox (acoustic), or fender deville

the pedal board is just a shelf I took from my closet, a strip of velcro, with two screen door handles, and two door stops stuck to the bottom to angle it.

do say brother… i am always looking for new sounds!

the “dirty” envelope on the sovtek bassballs is very unique sounding IMHO and cannot be matched with the nano version. i know it takes a lot of space but sound is sacrifice to begin with!

edit. Thanks for the kind words where are my manners!

looks really nice. you could add another BB/nano/compact sized pedal if you mounted your tuner on top of your bassballs.

well that is a good idea but wouldn’t velcro and glue kind of ruin the bassballs?

thanks for the input on the3 bassballs, i also have the large Russian one, and have been looking into getting the nano one to save space. i did not know there was a significant difference in the sound.

but ill probably eventually get the nano anyway, just for the collection! its just not on the top of the list anymore.

    #104268

well im not really talkin about replacing some things. i dont know i was just thinkin replace all non ehx with a corresponding ehx pedal. that phaser with a small stone say

    #104269

    @ Mr Grim

i dont know if all russian bballs are better sounding than the nano version. maybe mine has “character”! i compared them nevertheless in a guitar shop nearby my house and the difference was there, but when/if you get the nano version do a quick review&compare;so we know if the rule applies to all pedals

@ friedjesseradio the small stone is on my to-buy list already ;) is nano version the same with the old big-chassis one?
