here are some very Minimalist oscillations from the Flanger Hoax manipulated with a Memory Boy and a Stereo Pulsar. The were inspired by the Stanley Kubrick film 2001;A Space Odyssey . You can click on my pics to see some of my Paintings as well, I hope you enjoy the subtlety and grandeur of the Flanger Hoax.

Company Man I got to say I have all of these pedals and I can’t really figure it out how you did. Really great impressive sounds. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of Gil Melle’s Andromeda Strain Soundtrack. It was one of the first electronic soundtracks ever used. Also came in a hexagon packaging.

Thanks man! I find that very small movements of the knobs on the Flanger Hoax reap huge results, I know the film Andromeda Strain, and love it, but haven’t listened to the soundtrack aside from seeing the film, I’ll look for it. Rock on!

    Hi Bill,
in the 3 videos: tremolo/ring mod and noise samples, made by SupremePancake user,
in your opinion, how does he runs the loop made with the Memory Man into the FH?I don’t see anything plugged into the INPUT plug,I see that he uses only the BLENDED OUTPUT,could you explain me?

    thank you very much

    Hey loopman,
I do have something going into the input jack of the Hoax. You can’t see it because the plug has a right angle. :)

i’m from manila, in the philippines. i had it repaired by a local pedal builder. the problem of the crackling and clipping went away a bit but the flanger sounded different, not as wild as it used to, and the knobs responded differently then it originally did. so i decided to try to try to look for the original settings again myself, and just gave up out of sheer frustration.

i don’t really know what each trim pot does but i could intuit that when i moved it a certain way that the clipping and the crackling would go away a bit. maybe i’ll just mess around with it again one of these days.

oh btw, i took a picture of the pots before i messed with it, so that’s a bit of a ray of sunshine. but the problem seems to be that the adjustments are hairline increments, so its gonna take quite a bit of noodling.

anyway, just thought i’d post it here to discourage anyone else from trying this themselves. i don’t recommend it.
