    Thanks to all the replies.
I found the problem. It was a nut under the preset knob that had come off and was rattling away…
Screwed it back on and PRESTO….new pedal!
I guess because that white knob covered it up so well I somehow missed it before.
    Thanks for the help,
    Todd.

No problem. That’s what I’m here for.

    Hi,
I’ve recently recorded some voice tracks using the Voice Box, they’re featured in this song, just as a subtle effect, “High Harmony” mode, maybe a bit hard to notice but effective! I’ve only missed the chance to pan the dry signal and effected one :).

I know what I hate, and I don’t hate this. It’s actually very good. I would just like to hear the vocals (and Voice Box) more.

Don’t be shy, my Spanish friend!

    That’s just rattly goodness.

A certain number of POG2s were shipped with treats inside. Please don’t open it until Christmas, or, barring that, Halloween.

    I love my POG2 . . . just not the way I thought I would. It’s a jealous bitch-Goddess of a pedal, that’s for sure.

And that’s why it was the best summer vacation ever.

    mm: out

p.s. I just shook my POG2, and, sadly, there are no treats inside. :(

hi to clear things up it dosent need a major minor mode as c is a relative of a minor ie it use the same chords this is why c and a c# a# ete going up the ladder doh what can i say newbie v256 rocks go buy one

Thanks for clarifying. When I get one, I’m going to come up with a handy chart that lets me know what key is where, that’s for sure.

Is there any chance of you posting, or e-mailing me, some mp3s of the V256 in action, particularly of the INSTRUMENT CTRL feature? EHX didn’t go into it on their video of it, unfortunately.

    Thanks again.

hi m8 only issue i got is the major minor issue as concerns the instrument ctrl mode works super rigged my korg x50 to it and tried singing while holding various chords/notes works fine .just wished the manual had a bit more clarity to it regarding whether its in major or minor mode in reflex tune mode tried ringin the shop got it from and they referred me to electro harmonix which i have now sent an email hoepfully they will answer soon… just to clarify the part of the manual you dont understand is what electro harmonix refer to as a led ladder which you change with the pitch knob super easy just dosent explain how to change between major and minor mode ….

Thanks for the reply. I’m glad you’re diggin’ the V256.

But what I don’t understand is that the “LED ladder” doesn’t seem tall enough, so to speak, to let you choose all of the keys . . . one would need 12 LEDs, no? And there’s only 9 in the “ladder”.

I’m sorry I don’t have the answer, but I wanted to post a comment here to say that I’ve just read the V256 manual online, as I’m thinking about purchasing it, and I didn’t understand that part, either.

    Please clarify this, someone . . .

    A C#
    A# D
    B D#

    E G#
    F A
    F# A#
    G B

    What does that mean?

    Thanks!

Anyway, how do you like the V256, bluefish? Have you tried the INSTRUMENT CTRL setting yet, which changes the pitch of what you’re singing to the note being played on an instrument you run into the instrument input jack? I’m very curious to hear any impressions about that feature.

    Thanks again.

really? call them at at 800 222 4700, punch in extension 1339, it’s a guy named allen and he helped with the whole process. just tell him your lookin into buying the v256 vocoder, mine ended up being around $220.00. worth every penny though.

Thanks for the rather detailed help. I hope you get a piece of this Allen’s action.

Anyway, it was a bit too late, I’m afraid, as I’ve already ordered one elsewhere.

I do have another question about the V256, though: have you used the INSTRUMENT CTRL feature, which changes the pitch of your singing to the pitch of the instrument coming through the instrument input?

And if you have, how is it?

    Thanks!

Yes i recieved mine last monday. i ordered it off of sweetwater.com so it came in pretty soon, but i’ve never really experimented with anything like this so i can’t say its the best thing cuz there could be something out there better. i will tell you though that the V does what its supposed to.it works really well and has a great pitch correction effect. I really enjoy having it and i’m sure anyone who is into vocoding would also enjoy it.

    That’s funny . . . I can’t find it on sweetwater.com.

Hey moonlight, I merged your thread with this one so that there’s just one v256 thread.

Fuzz hasn’t announced if they’ve shipped yet or not. They may have shipped, and they may already be in stores. A lot of places have them for sale. So, I’d either await an answer from Fuzz which might take a few days, or just call/email around to some dealers.

Thanks, julian, for letting me know about the thread-merge.

And thanks for the advice. I buy most of my gear in the UK, and sometimes from thomann.de. Thomann has it on their site for 149 pounds, which seems fair enough, but they don’t actually have them in stock yet. The last time I e-mailed them, it took a few days for a response, so I figured I’d go right to the source.

I’m just gonna sit tight here and wait for a response, whilst dreaming of the possibilities of a V256 used in conjunction with my Voice Box.

    *twiddles thumbs, whistles*

update: Well, kiss my grits! Thomann, whilst (that’s 2 “whilsts” in one post . . . where’s my t-shirt?!?) they don’t have them in stock, they do mention whenst (that’s right: “whenst” . . . I’m going for broke!!! All in, baby!) they shall have it . . .

I give ye thy 18th of Septemberee!

    When will the V256 ship?

I’m rather anxious to get my hands on one.

    Thanks!

There’s a mode in the V-256 called INSTRUMENT CTRL which is not really mentioned in the video. It is a wonderul effect that allows you to set the pitch of your vocals (no matter what pitch you sing) with a monophonic instrument. It works really well with guitar but it won’t track chords.

The way it works is you play a note on your guitar, say an E at the 5th fret on the B string. Then sing into the mic, the output of the effect will be your voice pich shifted either up or down to the same E note you played on the guitar.

Think of it as Auto-Tune that let’s you play the notes in real-time. It’s great as a new kind of talk box effect or new style of vocoding. I see a lot of possibilities for live use, mixing the guitar and vocal together where the vocal tracks the guitar.

Please, please, please put up a video, or even just an audio, demo of this feature!

It sounds too amazing not to show off.

    Thanks!
