Might be redundant driving a digital medium through a tube. But then again, even if the sound isn’t warm; at least your hands will be!
and a steal at $700.
Yeah, bit of a joke.
Surprising how much kitch, “boutique” crap people will buy.imalwaysMemberQuote:I can’t even begin to imagine how expensive USA made tubes would be……no thanks.Word to that!
I’ll stick with chinese and NOS.imalwaysMemberQuote:A vacuum tube ipod would be an excellent hand warmer in the winter.Interesting idea.

imalwaysMemberQuote:Quote:How exactly is the “wahbrato” stacked?
I think it would sound best Trem>Filter>Phase. Thus the filter opening and closing with the speed of the trem, and finally treated with phase in/out.
Just my humble opinion.
There`s no “stacking” of effects happening in the WORM;
its the variable combination of it`s building blocks
that let it do either this or that…So the “Wahbrato” is very literally the EHX Worm then?
imalwaysMemberQuote:The pots EHX use are fine, there’s nothing at all wrong with them. Most of the caps are SMD, a few are thru hole. Unless you have the schematic you will be swapping parts blindly and even if you have the schematic you need to know what to change anyways.
And considering it has a three band EQ swapping a couple of caps wont do anything turning a knob wont do anyways.Good to know.
Whats the rating on the pots anyways?
These reason I was thinking a pot swap would benefit, was not so much for the EQ; but for the top boost.
I noticed that the colour of the sound changes alot from 12 o’clock to 5 o’clock.Nothing terrible, just made me think about potential mods.

imalwaysMemberOh yeah, the Empyrian is pretty dope for sure.

He’s a huge influence on me.
His work is pretty epic, heroin and otherwise.I love all of his work even when he was high, i think Smile From The Streets You Hold and Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt are probably the most creative albums i’ve heard along with his other albums. it’s just pure genius.
His new album The Empyrean is really amazing too.
I agree whole heartedly.
When I heard Niandra Lades for the first time, after years of recording on tapes…
I dunno man, it did something wierd to my brain.
Listening to something, that though nothing at all like my music; but somehow had the same aesthetic and did the same thing in my head.anyways… I’ll spare the thread of any more hero worship. heheh
imalwaysMemberQuote:Quote:To be honest, I was really surprised by the Metal Muff.
My brother picked one up so I was playing with it for a while at christmas time.
I found the additional tone controls made a world of difference.
I feel like very minor modifications could make these into absolutely killer pedals. What are peoples thoughts regarding the MM?
Well, despite having Muff in the name, the Metal Muff is not a Big Muff. It does not use the four stage transistor design like the Big Muffs.
Very true.
However, I’ve never seen guts of one of these.I wonder how easy it would be to swap in better pots and change a few caps.
