To be honest, they will likely sound the same.

Hey! I just got a deal on a ehx small stone russian green with the tall front big muff style font with some dings for 130$ and a ehx small stone russian black last version mint in the box for 105$, which is the best deal?? Hope you can help me, thanks

    John

Wow! Almost 9 years ago! That’s a new record for me. LOL

Anyways, since this post I have owned many, many more pedals. I will tell you that I Lee a green Russian muff on my board still, purely because I find the switch to be most satisfying. $130 doesn’t seem like a bad price either.

Hmmm… It would appear that my pics are too big and half of each is missing. Oh well, there are others hiding in there. HAHAHA

I have an old Fab Tone. It is a killer pedal. Super high gain, but looks like it should should like a purring kitten. I use it for the rare occasions I play metal.

I’d like to, but those prices are even higher. I would like to find some accurate clones to try before I spend my way to the couch…if you know what I mean.

Just an update to this post. The Phase 45 works perfectly now. I wrapped the board in foam and problem solved. The DOD is in need of a new switch, making it a great oppurtunity to add a 3DPT switch and the Roland…OMG! This pedal is a tone monster and is probably my most used pedal lately. Very different from my Muffs. It is a Distortion pedal through and through. Not that fuzzy. Great for punk to metal. I MUST have another. I wish somebody made a clone of this pedal, because I would buy 5!

A treble booster might help. Screaming Tree!

My mistress is in need of a a little work. The previous owner butchered the battery cables so they are less than reliable. Still works, but not ready for normal abuse. When I get the time, I’m going to have to send it and my old DOD OD/preamp 250 to Mr. Neely for a tune up…providing he has the time too.

It was a little difficult to see, but the pot said 137 76. I figured since it had the side mount pots like my V3 BM, it had to be from around that time(77’ish). Anyways, it plays like a dream. I need to play with it a lot more to get used to it. Flangers always take me a while to dial in for some reason.

David Gilmour was using it long before the LA metal scene came about. I don’t really think a BM and 80’s hair metal really go hand in hand.
