    Hi,

I recently purchased this pedal, and it’s wonderful! However, I’m not sure if this particular unit is functioning 100% correctly. But I’m still getting used to it, so maybe I’m misunderstanding something.

I use the pedal to detune my signal by a minor 2nd (“-m2” on the display) for some songs. I want only the minor 2nd signal sent to my amp. It’s a permanent requirement for me; it’s the pedal’s main use in my set-up. Therefore, I leave the pedal’s Dry and Shift 2 knobs turned completely counter-clockwise (“Off”). I leave the Shift 1 knob set to about 10- or 11-o’clock (“On”).

When the pedal powers on, it always defaults to the following settings:
    • “P5” Shift Mode displayed
    • Shift 1 LED illuminated
    • User and Bypass LEDs illuminated

The main issue/question is that each time I power-on the unit and select the “-m2” Shift Mode, the unit seems to ignore the Dry knob’s setting (“Off”). I’m not sure if that’s by design, or if there’s a problem with the unit. The result is that the pedal sends a blend of the Dry and minor 2nd signals to my amp.

To get a clean minor 2nd signal each time I power-on the pedal, I must repeat these steps:

    1. Select “-m2” with the Value knob.
    2. Slightly rotate the “Dry” knob clockwise, then rotate it back to the “Off” position. This turns the Dry signal off.

Unless I adjust the Dry knob after each power-on, the pedal defaults to a blend of the Dry and Shift 1 signals, even though the Dry knob was previously turned completely off. Is that by design? I would expect the pedal to recognize the Dry knob’s “Off” setting and therefore remove the Dry signal from the output.

Also, the pedal does not remember the “-m2” Shift Mode setting across power cycles. That’s less of an issue, but is it by design?

Again, this is a fantastic pedal. Please let me know if the issues I described are by design.

    Thanks!

    Hi Joesph
We sent you an email answer. hope you got it but if not:

Are you saving those settings to a preset slot? When the PF+ powers ON, the volume controls that were part of the preset will be loaded regardless of their physical setting on the pedal. The only exception is the LIVE preset slot. Please reference the PF+ user manual for details.

Try this, after turning on the PF+, move the DRY knob, the PRESET button should begin blinking. It blinks because the physical setting is different from the stored value. Once the DRY control is adjusted back to its stored value, the PRESET button will stop blinking. You can do this method separately for each volume control to double-check its stored value.

I hope that helps, and let us know if it doesn’t.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your PF+!

Thanks for the quick reply! No, I haven’t saved my settings to a preset slot. I’ll try that next. If I understand you correctly, saving to a preset slot will cause my settings to load automatically when the pedal powers on. Again, thanks!
