My pedal is behaving strangely and I’m not sure if it is faulty.

BLINKING LIGHT
I have saved a number of presets but frequently the preset light starts blinking, as if I have made changes that I need to save, even though I have touched nothing.
Sometimes it will stop blinking after a while but other times it persistently blinks.
This is particularly apparent if I have not used the pedal for a week which makes me wonder if the memory is faulty. It does however still do it when the pedal has been in use for a while.

POWERS ON ENGAGED
When the pedal is switched on the function is engaged but I would have expected an effects pedal to be off by default.
This means to play normally I have to press the Bypass switch every time. Is this the intended functioning of the pedal?
