Now, I know I can’t possibly be the only bass player out there who’s completely addicted to Electro-Harmonix…and while I can understand that the realm of bass-specific pedals isn’t that vast, I’d still love to see some more bass effects from this company. Please?
February 12, 2009 at 3:23 am #93148julianModeratorIn 2008 they released four bass specific pedals.
So they hear ya!
Pssst the Bass Big Muff rules
February 12, 2009 at 3:39 am #93152JRigglesMemberOh, I know…but I need more

Unfortunately I can’t think of anything viable other than some more filters…don’t suppose you have any thoughts?February 12, 2009 at 4:17 am #93154julianModerator
February 12, 2009 at 5:55 am #93158McHavenModeratorAlmost all EHX effects work well with bass already. Here are a few to be afraid of with bass though: Dr Q, Knockout, Nano Clone, Deluxe Mistress (my opinion), Holy Grails, Metal Muff.
So try out some, don’t worry about bass specific pedals.
February 12, 2009 at 6:06 am #93159julianModeratorTrue as well.

Actually, I am using a Nano Dr. Q in my bass setup right now…if you open the back you’ll find a small trimpot at the top of the board – this lets you adjust the overall range of the pedal. My Dr. Q now works flawlessly with my bass

Also – I was thinking of getting a Holy Grail +, should I not do so? (it’s digital, too…which means I probably can’t tweak it).

I’m also watching an XO Worm rather closely…Oh, and per Julian’s advice, I got the Voodoo Labs p.s.

that thing is a tank!February 17, 2009 at 1:06 am #93405BlueSteelParticipantyea, im pretty sure you can use almost any EHX pedal with a bass.
February 17, 2009 at 1:51 am #93406McHavenModeratorYou can use a bass with any effect, its just a matter of how well it works. Plug anything you want with a 1/4″ output into any pedal.
February 24, 2009 at 5:24 pm #93900FingersEverlingMemberYou can use any ehx with a bass. I find that if it robs you A little just throw a bass eq pedal in the mix as well. No worries. Just pure psyco madness.
February 26, 2009 at 1:25 pm #93975thelowerrhythmMemberI have a Fender American Standard Jazz, fretless with flatwounds and a brand new active bass / presence circuit.
Let me tell you something. Driving this *really* hard into the input of a big muff pi (not the bass version) produces a wall of perfect crazy tone that threatened to decapitate me.
February 26, 2009 at 2:21 pm #93978FingersEverlingMemberDecapitation ? Dang my rickenbacker just knocks me around when my memory man and electric mistress are getting it on.
