I just bought a 256 vocoder.
I’ve got sound but no midi.
I use an emagic AMT 8 midi interface. Works fine (but yes, its old!). It has 8 inputs and 8 outputs.
Knowing the 256 only runs out of channel 16 and I only have 8 outputs, do I need 16 outputs in order to get my vocoder to do nice things with my keyboard?

The AMT had 8 physical midi outs. Each of the 8 midi outs should be able to transmit on any midi channel 1 through 16.
Dont confuse physical midi output jacks with midi channels.
