How much with the list price be for the Memory Man with Tap Tempo when it comes out? GuitarCenter lists the Deluxe at $418 (retail: $313.50). How much more will it be?

think of it as a deluxe deluxe memory boy!

Deluxe Memory Man Tap Tempo MSRP: $504, estimated street price $378
$65 price difference seems about right.
MSRP is according to Musicradar.com, and the estimated street price is 75% of the MSRP, as almost all EHX products seem to go for about 75% of their MSRP.
Remember, MSRP is Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price. What you have to look at is the MAP or Minimum Advertised Price. That is the lowest price you can advertise the product at. It’s too prevent bigger retailers from driving smaller retailers out of business with price slashing, but it’s pretty much set standard prices on everything.

January 31, 2011 at 3:41 am #114062MattInVegasMemberThat’s what I thought at first too, hence the line of questioning. Everybody wants tap tempo now. Would like an expression pedal, but I’m pretty happy with the DMMXO. Figured I’d rather play with the new one in-store later.
I just noticed the DMMTT takes a 9-volt adapter while the DMMXO is 24-volt.

Secondly, you’ll notice that the knobs are the same lay out but on the depth knob on the memory boy it gives the option of saw tooth wave (turning to the left) and square wave (turning to the right). The memory man deluxe doesn’t have this. Im not sure what it does instead, or if it does the same thing but just isn’t shown.
Thirdly, The deluxe memory man has a separate output for a tap tempo switch ‘Tap SW’. It seems almost pointless as it already has tap tempo built in but if you have a large pedal board and want to have the pedal behind others, it would be handy to have a separate switch you could bring to a more accessible place.
Other than this they are practically the same. Ive been recently thinking about upgrading my delay. (I have the memory toy, there a great substitute for the more expensive one’s like the carbon copy. I need tap tempo though.) I’m Going to go for the Memory Boy deluxe though.
I would only go for the memory man deluxe if your extremely insistent on sound quality or just have the money.
The memory boy deluxe however, in my eyes is perfecty adequately sounding and a great all round substitute.
