    two questions:

first question: i heard EHX glue the knobs to the pots. i’m trying to take off the knobs on my qtron to see if my other EHX knobs fit on because i hate the chunky, modern looking knobs and i want to put my vintage EHX knobs that i bought for a different project on, and it’s proving difficult because i don’t want to damage anything…
are they glued on or am i just weak?

second question: since big boxes are going out of fashion and die-cast is totally in right now, is there any place to get the leftover big EHX enclosures?

    thanks

I’ve never seen ehx knobs glued on!!!

but they are a tight fit….you want to put something under the edge (like a small flat screwdriver) and ease then off very gently turning the knob each time to loosen it slowly.

don’t just try yanking it straight off or you could pull the shaft right out.

The knobs aren’t glued on, they are just pushed on. They are on firm and it takes a knife to pry them off, do one side then turn the knob and do a little bit more, continue turning the knob around as you pry it off a little on each side at a time.

edit: just my luck – the other knobs don’t fit on, LOL

I’d think EH wouldn’t really have any left overs, I’m sure they run a tight pretty efficient ship

    i agree.

from what i gather, they’re using up what they have and THEN changing to the diecast enclosures.

you CAN buy the EHX tube-type pedal (Blackfinger etc) enclosures though: http://www.banzaieffects.com/EH-Aluminium-Tube-Chassis-EHTPCH-pr-19363.html

It would be cool but we use all of our designed “big Box” cases in production.

scroll down half page: Hoffman tube-chassis…

BTW: like in the original E-H pedals, the “grille” is easily detachable…
(how else would you want to change the tubes? … if ever neccessary…)
