First post here, and maybe you will not see me here much, but I just wanted to share this with you, for I think this is not something EHX users see very often
I hooked up the Holy Grail Plus to a Folktek Micro Garden, and then built it onto a custom-made flightcase.
The Micro Garden is a electro-acoustic instrument with copper sprigs and a touchplate, capable of making very weird soundscapes. Courtesy of those weird people at Folktek…
Add the HOG+ pedal, and you get some very weird stuff indeed!

great sounds, but i bet that garden is pretty pricey
This is the Micro Garden, which cost me 320 euro or so (a bit more in USD), the worst part was that customs here in Belgium charged me an additional 150 euro import taxes
So, that’s not sooo expensive for an instrument hm?The bigger versions of the garden are more expensive, and there is a new version (called the Luminist Garden or short The Luminist) which has a very cool convolution reverb on its own, which goes for 640 euro on eBay for the moment.
If you are interested, check the Folktek blogspot on http://folktek.blogspot.com/ or check eBay for ‘Folktek’ as they often sell their stuff here… For the moment, they have three things on eBay, one of them is a Luminist.
Folktek are very cool people, and for an experimental musician like me, they make sublime toys!

320 euros isn’t that bad
could you please make us more in-depth video? as Sanqui said – it seems like it has built in delay and it would be really cool if you made another video showing different sound possibilities and features..
Well, considering tha fact that I’m down with a broken toe for the mo, another movie will be something for one of the next weeks I think
Meanwhile, I can answer that yes, the (micro) Garden has a built-in delay as well, which co-operates snugly with HOG+ reverb modes.
I made these two movies in the first place to show off my first self-made flightcase hehe, I see the benefit of course to make a gear-specific video. It will not be that easy, because half of the time I don’t know what the Micro Garden is doing myself, that’s what I like so much about it

“The Garden is a very intentional conceptual sound art work. This is something I intend to create on a much larger scale but for the time being, I’m very pleased to have completed this piece as a playable instrument. The sound very much reflects the asthetic – an electric garden with waves growing from the sound field they’re created from. The sound board and spouts of wire extending from it are picked up with high sensitivity and run through a series of effects intended to reflect the visual aspect of the whole. Every sprig of string has a unique sound and the Garden can be played as a percussion piece or soundscape generator. There is as much musical potential as there is a potential for strange sounds. The original sounds run through a very digital delay that can be as tight as possible or extended to about 1 1/2 seconds. The feedback can be adusted to generate long perfect extentions of tiny sounds to become waves then captured in long format if desired. This then runs to a wah effect that’s been altered to optionally waver so quickly that it reactes directly to the incoming waves as a wave itself – which results in some beautiful intermodulation – or the wah can be used to give more dynamic to the original source.”
