The 2880 is a decent stompbox worthy of live gigs as well as studio and home use so long as one uses the controller pedal. It’s more rock’n’roll than most loopers which is one of its multiple cool features. Feature number one? The fantastic sound quality. Vive la 2880!!!

i am surprised this doesn’t exist — seems like there is a market for a simple looper. the boss rc-2 / rc-3 seem to be the only/closest competitor in the small+simple looper category, but lacks the essential ability to attenuate the loop and the single footswitch is not as intuitive / easy to use live as a two switch setup (although i know you can get an external switch for the boss). the 16-second delay reissue seemed to fill this space when it was available, but its large footprint doesn’t make it an ideal fit…

here would be my wishlist for a small+simple dedicated loop pedal:

    *two switches:

1.) left switch= record (press to record, after recording once to stop recording, after recorded once to play the loop and overdub, once after pressing play to overdub, again to stop overdubbing, hold when not playing to erase loop)

2.) right switch= play (press after recording to start playing loop, press again to stop playing loop, press and hold to activate new loop ready while playing or stopped so next press of the recording switch activates starting recording a new loop ala the ‘new loop’ button on the 2880)

    *two knobs:

    1.) blend knob

2.) attenuation knob that is always active regardless of whether you are in recording mode or not (which would enable the ability to slowly fade a loop out without adding to it while continuing to play)

*16-bit 44.1khz recording quality or better

*long loop length (thinking 5 minutes or more, the idea being you won’t hit the maximum length in any practical situation)

    *stereo in/out

*medium xo box (big muff size) turned on its side would be great – however, i suppose i could live with the larger xo box (smmwh) ;)

seems do-able! i think they would get gobbled up…
