I assumed that the Holy Grail was eventually going to be phased-out by the XO Holy Grail Plus, so this is a nice surprise. Now all I need is an XO Deluxe Memory Man and an XO Pog!

Same pedal, smaller enclosure, standard power plug.

It’s utilitarian and it’s all about the sound.

Well, unfortunately, yes, I have to agree with nightraven. I love those huge enclosures and those pesky phone plugs.

Let’s hope the prices on the big-box versions drop. :thumb:

The world would be a sad and boring place if everybody liked the same things — but, with that said: if anybody should be loyal to the traditional enclosures, it would be me — but I really like the newer diecast chassis. My 2c! :)

    Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

I’ll still pray for people to prefer the smaller footprint and BOSS-style DC jack. :prayer:

Now, lets say I want to put this one on a daisy chain. Am I able, or will there still be noise like the older Holy Grail?

That looks pretty cool. I would never buy a reverb pedal (good ol’ Fender spring is all I need) but groovy nontheless.

i actually dislike the sound of the holy grails (bar the holiest grail, although that one’s quite expensive to make up for it). it’s got to be either a digital, versatile reverb processor or a proper spring reverb. the only analog spring reverb simulator that i properly like is the T-Rex one.

but yeah – the big boxes are awesome! this is all a big EHX plot to stop people modding the pedals since there’s no space in the squished up XOs ;)

i like the look of the big box one, but if its smaller with the same sound i’d get it!

I know a man who solders, de-solders and re-solders with nothing more than a magnifying glass, a pair of fine tweezers and a slightly-skinnier-than-average soldering tip. I’m not saying he likes it, I’m just saying it’s not as hard as you might think to mod the XO pedals.

PS I love it, shame I already have a classic Grail. Not that the old one was particularly large, though… Where is the giant benefit in shrinking something that was small already?

Still, Nano enclosures > MXR by a long shot because they have the power jack in a sensible place and because the effect doesn’t bleed through into the bypassed signal (although to be fair MXR has been getting better with their newer effects).

Now all we need is a 6-knob XO Holier Grail, and a HOG-sized “Holy Grail Literally Containing the Blood of Christ” (or something along those lines, and only for completion’s sake. Like a Holiest Grail with Hazarai, there could be detune knobs and a filter with adjustable resonance, attack control etc – picture the HOG but with the ten voice sliders handling Long Spring, Short Spring, Large Hall, Short Hall, Spring Modulation Depth, Spring Modulation Rate, Hall Modulation Depth, Hall Modulation Rate, Spring Detune and Hall Detune. There could be a Dry envelope control and a Reverb envelope control, so that the reverb could slowly fade in and THEN the dry instrument could slowly fade in or vice versa – just imagine, it’s easy if you try). I think after that, there will be a Grail in every shape and size box you guys make, making it a true EHX mega-franchise!
