Hey it looks like I’m the 1st reviewing on this one.

There’s so many possibilities with this pedal. I think it’s a well hided secret weapon from EHX!

I’m a big fan of the new XO compact casing but this one has a lot of stuff I don’t bother letting it into it’s original vintage casing!

It’s an awesome flanging phazing modulator that can be customize anyway you want it and get insane spacious textures…

And it’s the craziest noise experimental weapon I’ve never heard!

    It’s really unique!

Should be recommended by doctors! lol!

    OMG GUYZ!!1!

The flanger hoax has the most possibilities of any flanging/phasing pedal. I love getting those crazy, spacey sounds out of it. Anyone who loves flanging/phasing will love this pedal. It does take a while to figure everything out, but once you do that, you can make it sound amazing.

Funny I was just about to make a post requesting opinions on this box. I had a loaner of one for a few months – never could get much enjoyment out of it. Aside from feedback/noise sounds which were cool. But seems like this box is just shrouded in mystery in terms of usage.

This is where all the settings are. It helps a lot at knowing the pedal.

Here’s the setting I’m using now and it’s amazing with a Muff!

    ******************************************
    Chorus-like pseudo-Electric Mistress Flanger
    blend – 10:00-2:00 2:00
    feedback -10:00-12:00 12:00
    feedback switch – swept
    LIN
    mod mode -180 degrees
    amount – 10:00
    rate – 9:00-10:00 10:00
    delay mode -1
    invert switch – off
    fixed switch – bypass
    fixed delay – 3:00
    swept switch- swept
    swept delay -3:30
    ******************************************

I’ve took it from someone on the thread link above.
The value in bold are the one I use.

I also found this in there, it’s very useful to note down your settings.

nice clip!!!! Really interesting drone stuff going on

BTW I’m reading your sig. You don’t want a Dunlop DC Brick. You want a Voodoo Labs PP2+.

Is this multi-tracked? With you tweaking the Hoax? I’m guessing the Hoax is most of the high squeely sounds?

    Yes it’s 3 tracks.

One with my guitar setup including the hoax in electric mistress setting, one track with the bass setup and one last track with the hoax by itself. I record one part or the other first and accompaign it.

oh yeah? is it better at isolating the ground of my pedal and getting rid of the noise and switch poping?

because for now, I’m getting shocked everytime I touch my jack cable plug in my Sunn Solarus and one of my pedal! I’ve changed the polarity switch on the amp and didn’t fix it?

I’ll have my tech friend look at my Sunn soon…it needs some new caps…it’s really scary when you look at the schematic…there’s like 560V at some places…ouch! anyway it’s for another story, another thread…

    thanks for the comments.

The thing is that the DC Brick doesn’t have isolated outputs and it can’t do other voltages. If you get a POG2 and a Cathedral like you put in your sig, you probably would want them isolated. The EHX digital pedals are generally big current consumers and don’t like to share power.
