Ive been attempting to build a pedal board and within the next couple months i hope to have it compleate, i have fallen in love with the EHX line of pedals, they truely are amazing when used properley and from my knowledge EHX doesnt have a tuner pedal the only other tuner i would trust is the tu-2 from boss but i would like to keep my board all EHX

let me know what you think!

I would love to see an EHX tuner and you’re definitely not the first to ask, but I think the reason EHX has held off so far is that there is only so much innovation available when it comes to tuning. The Boss TU-2 is legendary for its reliability and the Korg Pitchblack is a bit smaller and has true bypass, I think Guyatone makes a bite-sized tuner that’s not much bigger than a 9v battery. Then you get into the crazy cheap (Behringer) or crazy expensive (Peterson Strobe) tuners, but despite all that diversity there’s not much room for EHX. Thusfar they have made their reputation on either making pedals weirder than everybody else or better than everybody else, usually both, and it’s hard to expand on such a simple concept without getting silly.

HOWEVER, there is another thread around here asking for a simple polyphonic pitch shifter for droptuning. I’d bet dollars to dangers that it would make a mighty fine pairing with a simple tuner…

I totally agree and this is pretty much how I see the situation, however….

The Korg is around £60 here, the Boss TU-2 is around £70.

so if EHX could make one that retailed for around £50 in the UK I think they could be on to a winner. I don’t know if that would be possible though…

    Tuner w/ Hazarai.

It’d be like the perfect all in one pedal to put at the beginning of your signal chain: a combination tuner, three band EQ, and booster/buffer. I’d buy that in two seconds. =D

I’d buy it in one second.

EDIT: Maybe not that fast, but I would eventually get one.

    Well…except for the hum debugger?

I’ve been wanting an EHX tuner too. if it’s gotta be complex, why not add a switchblade channel selector/stereo output to it? a stereo out with sliders for dividing frequencies to different channels would be cool.

yes i also have been waiting and waiting for an EHX tuner. but the TC Electronic Polytune that was mentioned above is by far sweet! it will have to do for now and it is Nano sized.

Does anyone think it’s possible to fit a TC Polytune (or maybe a Korg Pitchblack) into an actual nano enclosure? To make my own ”’EHX”’ tuner!

We don’t need no stinkin’ tunas. There is alot of compition already out there for that market. We just need some EHX q-tips

it IS possible (Korg Pitchblack definitely, not so sure about the Polytune as it looks a little bigger) but it wouldn’t be easy and i don’t really see the point.
