this drum machine is the very berries- when are we going to get a reissue? clunky built in beats and all?
If you were thinking about improving it, here are some suggestions:
1) don’t “improve” the sounds, or add banks and banks of new sounds- except the the kick, which is a bit too muddy

2) midi in/out for use as a drum brain/sync. kids will like that for their electro pleasure
3) keep the built in beats, like the old one.
4) keep the tactile interface- the fun of that box is running it through a bunch of effects pedals, and turning knobs, and seeing what happens.

The trick for a new EHX DRM would be to release a 16 and a 32 version with digital technology and 4 or 8 separate outputs combined with a sequencer and flash memory.

an XO drum machine could be cool. a hazarai type thing where you can warp the rhythms and stuff.

Well, Night Raven, the DRM 16 is useful to plug in and get instant groove! Just plugged mine in yesterday to give it a spin after several years somnolence. Amazing how good it is to sit down and jam out songs and riffs. It has grand funk beats and roots reggae. I bought mine in Paris, France, as an import when it was first released for 1.250 French Francs so 50 Euro was a pretty good deal!
