Talk to me baby.
How’s the Double Muff?
Can it do that Gilmour rythm sound on “Time”, that kind of metallic, bitty twang?
Thanks for your input!
December 3, 2008 at 3:19 pm #88194Brother_BudroParticipantIt’s been a while since i have heard this song
but it’s nothing like a big muff
it’s just kind of like a fuzzy overdrive
it’s hard to explain but very interesting
edit: im listening the the song right now
it might be able to pull it off
are you interested in buying one?
i just happen to have one for saleDecember 3, 2008 at 4:52 pm #88239Small StoneMemberThanks for the feedback (pun intended!)

January 5, 2009 at 1:24 pm #90097MINGMemberHey everyone,
I just bought Brother_Budro’s Double Muff.
Who here has one? Anyone care to discuss how they use it? Any interests in it?
January 5, 2009 at 1:31 pm #90098electro-melxModeratorI used to have one and to be honest I kinda miss it, I used to use it on single mode for a light dirt and the big muff for more dirt…..the main reason I sold it at the time was because it didn’t work with my wah (it made both the wah and double muff sound awful) and in my experience the double muff sounds best with nothing in front of it (except a guitar lead and a guitar!)……but yeah, I really loved the sound of it, I think I might buy another sometime this year.
January 5, 2009 at 2:30 pm #90100MINGMemberBy any chance, did you use it with humbuckers?
January 5, 2009 at 3:03 pm #90101electro-melxModeratoryup, mainly with my Jagmaster.
January 5, 2009 at 8:24 pm #90132VarindweionMembera question about the double muff.
I’ve heard that it is an ‘egotistical’ pedal, being that you need to put it in the front of the chain.
Does this is also include the switchblade and a tuner pedal?
I want to by a DM and a SB and use it as follows:gitA or gitB -> SwitchBlade -> Boss TU2 -> Double Muff -> LPB-1 -> Dunlop Crybaby Wah -> amp(Fender Pro Jr.)
Or should I place the TU-2 behind the Double Muff?
January 6, 2009 at 3:38 am #90158John JMemberyou have to put the tuner after it, the switchblade will be fine. single mode should come close to that ‘time’ rhythm sound, but its a really warm pedal so use your lead pickup.

January 11, 2009 at 8:33 am #90428CostchParticipantI really need to get a Double Muff soon. Something tells me EHX will discontinue it by next year, maybe even sooner.

Well there’s already the Nano Muff, which is basically a single muff out of this thing, but it is probably different.
January 12, 2009 at 8:10 am #90505couch styleParticipantwell, as i personally don’t see an improvement upon the “double muff” when compared to original and metal muffs, so i might see a discontinue in order, however is it worth buying for for it’s rareness while it might be a simple waste.
