Is it just me or does it seem like no one uses the double muff? Granted, its not one of EHX’s more complex pedals but still, its a MUFF and its cheap!

I had one and really liked it, but it’s not a ‘muff’ in the sense of a big muff fuzz….I sold mine because I only ever used it in single mode, so I sold it with the intention of buying a nano muff (same thing as double muff in single mode) which is still on my list to buy….although, I really have enough dirt right now!!

Did you find the lack of Tone & Volume controls to be
    a problem?

I have a Big Muff Pi & a Bass Big Muff. I’ve never stacked
them but I will today! :metal:

no not really, tonally it’s very transparent providing it’s first in line, otherwise it can sound trebley.

the controls are volume controls btw, in single mode it just turns the volume up on a pre-set amount of gain….in double mode it cascades on into the other , so one knob controls the overall volume and the other controls how much you are driving the second stage, giving you a drive control and a volume control in effect.

it’s quite versatile actually for what it is.

That sounds cool – there’s always room for one more :D

Btw – I stacked my two Muffs & the result was “Blistering Muffz”!

It sounds like the Double Muff might be a little more controllable.

Actually, its not a big muff, its two overdrives in series.

BTW, I only have 19 dirt pedals so I could always do with more.

I have one, and like the other guy said if not used first it’s very trebly!

I’m tempted to get a double muff, but my pedalboard is pretty crowded as it is.

I would buy a double muff, but my next fuzz pedal would have to be the english muffn because i want to get some more of the sounds of John Frusciante and i know he used it a lot on stadium arcadium.

ive been looking at getting one. i watched the PGS demo and it sounded amazing. i like the idea of two circuits that can cascade into each other. very cool.

I’d say for the money you might as well try one, people seem to either love or hate them…..probably depending on what kind of music they play.

I think some people buy it thinking it’s gonna sound like a big muff, or a low gain overdrive, it isn’t really either..

to my ears in single mode it sounds very ‘vintage’ and gritty.

in double mode it’s pretty much pure fuzz but without the boosted low end of the big muff.
