    Hi to everyone,

I have just recieved my brand new Deluxe Memory Boy Analog Delay in Spain and I’m havng problems with it, because the official power supply which I was given with it (used with an adaptor in order to be able to plug it into a european plug, does not work.

The leds light up and the tap tempo shows the rhythm you tap on it, BUT NO DELAY SIGN AT ALL!

Please Help me!!! Because I don’t know if it’s a minor problem or if it means that I’ve been given a NON-WORKING irregular unit. (I bought it from an authorized EHX dealer.)

Thank you very much in advance!

    Regards from Spain!

Why don’t you just bring it back to the dealer?

I’m in Spain and bought it from an american dealer in the US. Well, I have the chance of returning it, but all I need to know is if it is broken or not.

I love the device and want to keep it! But, if there is nothing wrong with the device, I need to know how I can run it in Spain.

    Thanks for your time!

It’s almost impossible for us to know if it’s ‘broken or not’ or if it’s something small or something major… it could be anything, have you tried it with different cables, do you get a clean signal when you engage the effect or nothing at all? what ‘adapter’ are you using, is it converting the voltage too? does the adapter work with another pedal?

if you can eliminate every other part of the signal and power chain then you’ll know it’s the pedal itself.

…in which case you’ll have to contact ehx and arrange a return, they have a european repair centre, but next time buy it from a european dealer, you’ll get the correct power supply… with the Euro being as weak as it is right now I can’t imagine you saved much buying from the US and you could have saved yourself a lot of hassle.

Did you say you cant use the adapter because it has a us plug? I bet thats your answer.Go to your electronics store and buy the exact adapter but for EU use.Make sure the tip / ring are right and you have more than enough millivolts.

I think he’s saying he used a US/EU converter, which should work fine.. unless it was just a plug converter and not a power converter then he’s just blasted 230v into a power supply expecting 110v.

I’ve followed the instructions on the manual.

    – I’ve used a Boss 9VDC Power supply: guitars’ sound came through but only with the delay swiched off; as soon as the delay is swiched on NO SOUND AT ALL.

    – With the power supply supplied by EHX with the pedal plugged into a converter that adapts US system to EU: NO SIGNAL AT ALL.

    – Went to a music store to buy a a regular european EHX adaptor and tried it there with an expert: didn’t work; leds lit up but no delay sound.

So the conclusion is that the pedal is not in working order. It is really sad because my EHX Germanium 4 and my EHX Small Clone work both perfectly.

Thanbk you all very much for getting envolved in helping me. I really appreciate this!

    (Please excuse my english)

    Regards from Spain,
    Javier
