    hi. i am looking for a compressor for my electric bass guitar. what’s the best option on ehx line? soul preacher or black finger?

    I am a bassist, and I use a soul preacher. It has worked fine for my bass so far. I did adjust the internal gain trim slightly, but after some experimentation I found a good fit for my sound. I have not had the opportunity to try the black finger, but at the price I would probably go for a Keeley Compressor. Reviews vary on harmony central, and I can’t tell who is a bassist on there, but a lot of them also point to the keeley.

    I tried the Black Finger, Keeley comp, and the Dyna comp before buying my Black Finger…

    For guitar it’s better than the others IMO, but many bass players here on the EHX forums LOVE it. Check out the review section.

    If you are interested in a Black Finger, I’m selling mine because its not practical on my board. Check this, maybe we can work something out…http://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/2715/
