Overdrive is really not my favorite effect, and I’m picking up a cheap Behringer. I’m also turning to Behringer for reverb, the DR100 is amazing for $29. The Pulsar is kind of cool, but I’d like to find something a tad more versatile. Of all of the pedals under the Chorus/Phase/Flange, what do you recommend?

my favourite chorus pedal is the Small Clone. even though it’s not the most tweakable pedal, the two depth presets are well chosen and it has a wide range for the rate.

the only other chorus pedal that i’ve tried that i like is an old Yamaha pedal i have.
i’d love to try a Polychorus one day.

i’ve got two phasers which i really like: a Small Stone RI and an old orange Ross Phaser. i’ve had other more expensive ’boutique’ pedals but i didn’t like them very much.

to be honest though, when it comes to chorus (or chorus-y effects) and flanging – both effects which i don’t use that often – i find myself using the Haz or my old Digitech RDS-1000 (rack delay with modulation).

are you only interested in pedals?

Rack-mounted units are nice, but I’d prefer pedals. This looks like what I’m going to try to acquire: Haz, Holy Stain, and Polyphase. Between those, I get delay, chorus, vibrato, overdrive, fuzz, reverb, tremolo, pitch shifting, phasing, and auto-wah. I think that’s pretty good for three pedals. :D
