I think I have done several “demo” type vids using the Metal Muff, but in this I attempt to demonstrate the differences in tone when tweaking the knobs. I tried to be scientific and recorded everything in Sonar although I did not use any plug-in effects to shape the tone after it was recorded.

I remember someone asked on the EHX You Tube page about putting the MM in front of the overdrive channel of an amp. I don’t know about solid state amps, but it works great with the overdrive channel on my 6L6 tube amp.

    Anyhow, hope this helps.

that was really cool :thumb: i liked how it was the same thing over and over again with a different setting on the pedal.

great use of the smmh too!

Thats quite the way to demo a pedal. I’m not too fond of the metal muff but it definitely an informative demo.

    Kudos! :thumb:

Thanks! I am glad if it is helpful in any way. I am going to try to do one more Metal Muff demo using pinch harmonics type stuff, a better mic, better lighting, and hopefully in high definition video since You Tube seems to support that type of video. I mention in the vid description about changing tubes and although I like the Tung Sol preamp tubes, the stock Electro-Harmonix preamp are awesome also and I think better for what I like to play. My current preamp setup is a Tung Sol 12AX7 in the first slot and an Electro-Harmonix 12AX7EH in the second slot.

Again, thanks for checking it out.

In case anyone is interested, I finally did another demo with my Metal Muff. The intention was to show the pedal and amp settings, and how the pedal sounds in the context of drums and bass. It gets a little crazy visually, but anyhow, got the High Definition setting on You Tube going. :)
