A mild overdrive. I just ran it through a VJ. The VJ’s volume was set at about 9 o’clock. All of the pedals knobs were maxxed. The VJ has a 12AT7 so the gain of the amp is toned down a little.

At my computer, I have a hybrid Vox VR30. The amp is set clean and the pedal’s settings are the same as before. The same, a mild overdrive.

I really like the taper of the gain knob. I haven’t used this pedal playing out yet, but at home, I really like it. I find that some pedal’s volume are quiet, then LOUD. This pedal has a smooth volume increase.

Wow, are you trying to collect the whole set of EHX pedals? I didn’t realise the russian small stone was so big, either :P

I’m also considering getting a double muff, they have a couple of them left in the shop i get most of my stuff from.

    Any chance of sound clips?

All i’ve heard from the GeOD is the proguitarshop.com demo. This pedal does appeal to me though, if it can get that classic “slashed speaker” fuzztone without a scooped midrange.

Not much compared to some other’s, it is a start though.
I have a Graphic Fuzz on backorder and a Double Muff coming in the mail.

So post what you have whether you have one EHX pedal or a hundred. What is your favorite out of them?

It’s a pedal I’ve been interested in since it came out, I’ve only tried it once but I get the feeling it’s the kind of pedal you need to spend a little time with? Do you find it creates enough dirt on it’s own into a clean amp or do you use it to push your amp into overdrive?

    What’s up everyone?

I had been looking into building a pedal with a voltage sag. I would came across a few schematics and directions. Being as lazy as I am, I just bookmarked everything for later. Then the GeOD was released. I searched, high and low, in every music store in Pittsburgh. Could not find it. Even had family in Eastern Pa look for this thing. Yeah I know that I could have ordered it. I’m lazy. Well I finally found one. After an enjoyable dentist visit, I staggered across the street to a smaller guitar shop. There she was, finally!!!

I haven’t had as much time as I would like with this pedal. So far, it is winner. I use it for that 60’s garage rock tone. Copying the setting from this site’s demo, it nails it perfectly. I think it sounds great with single coil pickups. I use my Strat or Mustang into my Bassman with the GeOD. WOW!!!! The tone and vibe, knocks my socks off.

So if anyone wants to share settings, thoughts, recommendations. Lets hear them.
    Any questions?

    The dimensions are:
    4 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ x 1 5/8″ (11.5cm x 9cm x 4cm) I hope my math is correct. The measurements do not include the rubber feet on the bottom or th in/output jacks on the sides.

Here is a link, that shows a size comparison between the GeOD, Big Muff Pi and LPB-1.

But with the way they’re reissuing the old gems, maybe it’s asking for too much?

2N5133s on everything! Or even the mysterious FS36999s, but positive-grounding is a bitch in these One-Spot days.

I was getting pretty sick of having my pedals all over the place so I picked up one of these the other day and I’m currently spending my time setting this up with a power supply, new cables and a few new pedals….here’s my first impressions.

Firstly it’s a little bigger than I expected, you can easily fit a mixture of about 10 XO/Nano sized pedals in this…providing you don’t mind having 2 rows of pedals….I don’t have anything to measure it with right now, but I will post pictures when it’s all together so you can see exactly what’s possible. This bag is an absolute steal in my opinion. it’s very well made…right up there with the better quality guitar gig bags. It’s a great design too, there are flaps in the sides to pass cables, power supplies etc through the sides, a carry handle and shoulder strap and a handy pocket on the ‘lid’…I’d recommend this to anyone who needs an inexpensive way to keep or transport a smallish pedal set up. if you have a lot of the larger box pedals then you might find it’s a bit small for your needs….but if you have a smaller set up or you use mostly XO/Nano I can’t recommend it enough.

it’s another great quality/brilliant value for money EHX product in my opinion……..I just don’t know why I didn’t buy one before now.

this has to get a 10/10 from me, because I really can’t find anything I don’t like about it and it was excellent value for money.

as far as I know the first EHX product (Linear Power Booster) came out in 1969, that would make 2009 Electro Harmonix’s 40th Anniversary…

that’s pretty amazing, I wonder if there are plans for anything special to celebrate this other than me going ‘woo hoo happy birthday!’ :cheese:

It might be a bit much to ask for the schematics of new pedals, but old pedals… hmm. There’s an idea.

But with the way they’re reissuing the old gems, maybe it’s asking for too much?

That’s why it is merely a suggestion :p

Good to see you on board, Boo

Now, this idea could only work if EHX is willing to allow schematics to be posted.

Lots of people like their EHX pedals, and lots of people like to modify and change their EHX pedals. If it’s allowable, could we set up a database, or sticky thread to links of pedal schematics in order to help anyone with a broken pedal, or someone looking to modify their pedal?

We could also have some EHX engineers and pedal designers keep an eye on that forum and have them pop in, perhaps with possible ideas of solutions, or just to say that it would be best to ship the pedal for repair.

Also, not technical/help, but how about a For Sale/Wanted Pedals forum?
