I have both and there is a simularness sound (as a guitar player with some engineering chops)…I do believe that the sonic max. is a bit “harsher” and the KO has more flexibility…I just got my KO so, I have not come up with my “official” opinion yet…

it is one of my fav. comps…I have an old MXR, analog man’s jusicer, and the SP..very nice..they are all a bit different and I use then for different situations, SP has a great warm sound…

with a little more use I am starting to dig some of what it can do…I tried it out with my LP and though that it was pretty good…I still I am not sure if the sound will be fatiguing or not…it seem a little strident….like a EH if I push the knobs to extrem things get wierd…I LIKE THAT

    st.bede,
To do a vox or voice sound I would need whats called a formant filter.
Its a filter that produces vowel and vocal sound.
I have done it in the past with different gear and it worked well.
It sounded more like an Opera tenor voice, but it did sound human.
Electro-Harmonix does not have any formant filter device that I know of and I want these clips to show off the merits of EH.
I will say it was a sound that would be VERY hard to place into a any contemporary recording.
I never was able to use it on a session except for the clip I produced for my self to show the VOX capabilities.

I do have some cool new stuff coming up using the EH HOG pedal!

I dig….but, I was thinking about using an Env filter and some dirt to get an oohish type sound but, I dig

The best solution I’ve found is to buy some slightly longer patch cables and pretend the design makes sense.
