Hi. Send an email to support info@ehx.com. Maybe they can repair it for a nomimal fee.

in reply to: Difference between the Slammi and Slammi Plus? #126316

I own the Slammi, and a few other Next Step pedals. I like them. I have a cradle for each one which keeps the pedals stationary, otherwise they tend to “worm” around a little.

The Slammi is able to add one interval, either up or down in pitch, to the original signal. The original signal has a volume/mix control so it can be removed. The Plus is able to add one interval above and one below the original signal.

I didn’t go with the Plus because the NS pedals are “built like tanks.” However they all require power, even the EXP, Pan, and Volume.

Great idea for a pedal. I’ll have to pick one of these up, and could probably use two or three.

I own both and your question has already been answered, but I think you will like the Stereo Polyphase. It is very versatile, and is my favorite pedal. If you don’t own an expression pedal, you will want to buy one.

The Super Pulsar is also worth owning, especially if you are playing/recording in stereo. If you get one, be sure to also get the Triple Foot Controller.

Hi There-I have a green Russian reissue and am going to get both the triangle and the new Rams Head reissues. I want to know if I would be better off getting the Deluxe Big Muff Pi and being done with it. In order to go this route, I would want to know if the deluxe can perfectly nail the tones in the Russian, triangle and rams head reissue pedals. Any input would be great. Thank you.

I own the Deluxe Big Muff Pi. I don’t have other Muff pedals to compare with its operation because I only wanted to buy one. There are some downloadable settings that supposedly produce the same timbres as the individual Muff pedals. I will say that the DBMP is very versatile although I do prefer the distortions of the Graphic Fuzz, the Soul POG (Soul Food), or especially the overdrive channel of my Marshall.

OKAY I am puzzled by this.

For the longest time I was using POLYCHORUS XO mainly the FLANGER Setting. I also had Neo Small Clone.

I took a wild leap of faith sold both of them and grabbed a Stereo Electric Mistress.

SEM seems to be giving me the CHORUS Sound I always dreamed of.

How is this possible ? Is it because of my style of guitar picking etc

or is FLANGER and CHORUS that easy to confuse with each other?

Flange and Chorus are very similar. In their basic forms they both split the signal, detune it, and feed it back into itself producing beat frequencies. With Chorus the two pitches are constant. In the flanger, the original signal is constant but the fedback signal fluctuates.

The SEM is digital, while the DEM and Stereo Polychorus are analog. Perhaps you prefer digital to analog. Also, the SEM is very straightforward in its operation, while the DEM and SPC require more fine tuning to find the desired effect.

Hey a girl can wish can’t she? Please please please.

I love EHX as they’re made in USA and have never sold out. There are so many pedals to choose from from affordable to expensive. Along those lines I like how they have for example the Memory Toy, and bigger models of the same sort of effect so you can choose the price point vs feature set that you want.

And how cool is Mike Mathews with that wild hair!?

    EHX Number 1!!

Flanger Hoax XO? I’d buy one.

I love my Next Step Pan, but there are times when I would like to be able to park it in the heel down position, or halfway. If EHX put the guts of this thing into a standard pedal, I would buy it tomorrow. Maybe even tonight.

The Next Step Slammi can be calibrated for either heel-to-toe or toe-to-heel operation. The Pan manual doesn’t state anything about reverse calibration, so I wonder. The Next Step Expression has a Reverse button. Either would have been great options for the Pan.

I must be lucky, my Stereo Clone Theory XO doesn’t produce any noticeable hiss or any other noise.

From my experience, lowering the tuning will result in less tension on the neck which probably results in the need to re-adjust your truss rod, string height, and intonation. When I played bass, I used five of them, all tuned and setup differently. I own a Slammi (similar to Pitch Fork operation) and I think it will drop down to an octave below the A string on bass. I don’t own a bass anymore, but it works flawlessly for guitar, and is great for raising or lowering the pitch of all the strings at once on the fly, so scale patterns remain constant.

This is a great addition to the Super Pulsar.

Thank you! Well we stopped just because sales were down. It is a great pedal!

It’s probably my favorite pedal. If I could only have one, I think this would be it (and of course an expression pedal).

    Hi,

I’m a bit confused about the current draw of the Soul POG. The instructions lists two different values:

The Soul POG requires 125mA at 9VDC with a center negative plug. (Warning/Page 1)

The Soul POG draws 150mA at 9VDC with a center negative plug. (9V Power Jack/Page 2)

I am running out of available power on my S8 and every milliamp counts. I think it’s about time to buy a second one.

    Stay safe.

It hasn’t officially been released yet, but is offered for pre-sale on some retail sites. It does appear in the latest EHX catalog, along with a few other new products. I am waiting for this pedal. In the mean time, I am trying to figure out if I should get a Slammi Plus, Pitch Fork, or Pitch Fork Plus.

Looking at the instruction sheet and EHX’s latest catalog, only the POG2 is true bypass. The Dry output on the Micro Pog is buffered so I suspect the pedal uses buffered bypass.

Sending the pedal in right now isn’t an option. You might be able to obtain an RA#, but there won’t be anyone to receive the package until it is safe to do so. I have an RA# to send a pedal in for repair, but I was directed not to send it until EHX reopens for business.
