I’m trying to avoid using a separate mixer/switcher for combining the tones of the Synth 9 and the Mel 9 together to play both at once. Would this scenario work?:

Connect serially both pedals together (using only the “effect output” on both pedals), and on the first pedal having 0% Dry, 100% Synth/Effect; and the second pedal that it is feeding into, have 50% Dry, 50% Synth/Effect

This should blend the sounds of both pedals nicely, no?

    Thanks!

    Sorry no.
Your straight guitar sound need to feed both pedals.

You could then combine both outputs together with a switchblade plus and not need a mixer

Ok, but what about changing the levels of one pedal over the other pedal?

Isn’t the SwitchBlade Plus only directional as in one input to two outputs? Or, are you suggesting that the SwitchBlade Plus signal move from two inputs (the labeled A/B outputs) into one output (the labeled input)?

What about the tuner connection? Would it receive the same signal the labeled input connection is sending out? Confused.

You would change levels with the volume knobs on each 9 pedal.
Yes the coll thing about the switch blade plus is it is bidirectional and it will mix to down to one or switch between them..

So you would take guitar into Mel9 and its out to one input of the switchblade plus the the Mel9 dry out out go the in of the Synth 9 and its output to the second in on the switch blade.

    1) Ok, but what about the tuner out jack in this scenario? Would it send a duplicate signal out just as the input is now sending out?

    2) Would both jacks send signal from both mixed pedals? In other words, not the synth 9 on one jack and the Mel 9 on the other jack, but a mix of both pedals?

Yes if you hit the switch that says A+B both inputs will mix to one.
I will set it up tomorrow and report what the tuner out outputs.

Ok, thank you! Let me know what you discover!

When it is used as a passive mixer(in reverse) the tuner out does not work.
Also there is a little gain reduction when both are mixed but just a little.
It is passive that is how it works.

Is the gain/level reduction worth getting a small mixer, or can increasing levels on the pedals compensate when using the Switchbalde Plus? (I’m looking for the best sound fidelity)

It would be better with a mixer but the switch blade+ did not suffer a fidelity issues ,just a little output I compensated for using the effect knob.

Ok, so why would it be better with a mixer?

You wound not lose any output gain if that is an issue with you.

Does it make any difference if the Swotchblade Plus is powered? Meaning, will the tuner out send out signal, and the pedals’ levels are better?

No that just powers the LEDS
