July 11, 2010 at 1:05 pm #110126B.DawsParticipantSorry I’m being super lazy this weekend. I’ll try to work on some today…
*edit* So I just got through jamming a little with it and I love it. This is my first Germanium pedal FYI and I was also playing it on a brand new amp that I just got. Due to that it may not quite be dialed in but I just plugged in my strat and just had a joyous little noodling session. One of the first things I noticed is the Bias and Volts controls are extremely sensitive. There are a huge variety of sounds in there just from fiddling with it. Messing with the overdrive side can get a nice little crunch going but also as just a boost it seemed super clean as well. The distortion side is great because the Volts option allows for so many different tones. I just could not stop playing with it! So this morning has been great needless to say. I plugged in my new amp (a Peavey Classic 30 head) and was loving the cleans on it. Then I hooked up the G4BMP and that was just icing on the cake. The G4BMP also allowed for very controlled feedback at very low levels which I really dig. Also the harmonics that come out of this thing are insanity. Overall I’m very happy. I’m going to record some clips at some point as well. What is a good site to upload these to in order to share them? Later dudes.

July 12, 2010 at 2:38 pm #110156julianModeratorI like soundclick a lot myself. Tell me, with both channels on can you get Big Muff sounds? And also can you get weird fuzz sounds by playing around with the bias?

And also can you get weird fuzz sounds by playing around with the bias?I was basically using the overdrive side as a lead boost to the distortion side when I was playing around. I’m sure if you upped the gain on both sides you can get into sonic mayhem. It sounds quite different from my muff though(Russian). Also the bias has a strange effect which allows you to go from a mellow/compressed tone to a more edgy sound(maybe it effects the clipping?). The volts has a huge impact on “fuzzness” though and with it down you can get a very good torn speaker sounding fuzz. Maybe some day I will have time to record some clips.
July 12, 2010 at 10:18 pm #110162KitraeMemberIt really sounds nothing like a Big Muff, so the name is a bit misleading, but it does some cool germanium overdrive/fuzz tones. Lots of versatility, but not really in the scooped/clipped range you get from a Big Muff circuit. I’m still messing with it to see what tones I like. Lots of knobs to twiddle with!
July 13, 2010 at 5:49 pm #110187B.DawsParticipantHey Kitrae,
I noticed on the overdrive side when I turn the bias down(CCW) it turns to pure static around 9 o’clock. Does yours have the same issue? Is this normal? It is fine from about 12 o’clock up.
July 14, 2010 at 9:42 pm #110221AshjaahsMuffParticipantcan you get like soft warm overdrive tones from this ?
