This is a superb piece of kit,
I love the way it glitches and farts when I play open strings or more than one note,
’tis like the POG’s monophonic little bro.Sounds sweet with the small stone and a bit of muff too,

Hey John,
There’s not much of a place for them on mine either, cool pedal to have though for the weird moments.
I have tried it on a bass and it doesn’t sound as cutting or crisp as it did on guitar but it still gives those mad, glitchy sega mega drive/ game boy/ atari sounds.May 13, 2009 at 5:14 pm #96663Fender&EHX4everModeratorLike the Frequency Analyzer, it’s a pedal that begs you to find creative or unconventional applications for it.
I like placing it in the effect loop of the Qtron+. It sounds great when playing staccato rhythmic lines into a delay. I also like to use it with my Sonic Boomer drum to get a fat kick sound.

I never even thought of using it with the percussive pedal,
had a few awesome sounds with a space drum going, cheers FenderEHX4ever! :thumb:That crying tone sounds fantastic with the delay, really like that slow wah sound,

I agree, post-punk is fantastic and surprisingly overlooked too.

One can set it nicely for a Fender Telecaster so that three / four note chords on the top strings do not trigger it but the bottom E and A strings do. This gives great bass lines for funk and reggae without any trouble with clean precise chords on top.
..and as for using the Octave Multiplexer for bass, I find it brilliant and have done several productions with the OM on a Fender Jazz Bass, and also Precision Bass. With a decent Ampeg bass system the result is powerful to say the least.
…and my top favourite is the Deluxe Octave Multiplexer with built-in muff unit. Fantastic sounds with both guitar and bass. Seen one go on ebay recently, but the guy was only accepting ‘pickup only’

I have enclosed a pic of one my two DOMs, both of which are this model which I think is the original vintage DOM.
Meanwhile, keep looking out for vintage Deluxe Octave Multiplexers. Of the two I have now, I bought one in the UK from a store closing sale, and one in Germany on eBay.
