The Polyphonic reverb in OCEANS 11 has two pitch shifters going into a Reverb. So I noticed while fooling arround that there is a volume threshold where the dry and pitch shifted signal are not perceived as a two note harmony any more… You just hear one sound, slightly altered. SO I thought what If I emulated using this principal: the root, first and second harmonic overtone of a sound to alter the timbre of my guitar? I did a limited ammount of tests with very interesting results! …my tone WAS altered and when I wouldn’t be reminded of other instruments, I would get lost in the sound as I would when I played through a marvelous amp with a tone that I couldn’t get enough of. SO I just learned about the OCEANS ABYSS…. with an OCEANS 11 in its effect loop, theoretically 6 overtones can be created!!!! QUESTION: This is fantastic news but for REALLY interesting TIMBRE creation and sound design … IT WOULD BE GREAT IF WE DIDN’T HAVE THE SEMITONE LIMITATION. Metallic and Gamelanish timbres for example, need more freedom. SO …question: Could you maybe do a firmware update for the OCEANS ABYSS THAT WOULD INTRODUCE A RELATIVELY “GRADUAL MODE” OF 127 STEPS IN THE TWO OCTAVE SPAN? ORR… Make a dedicated pedal just for that… programming the OCEANS for this task, is very time consuming because you have to “tuck” each overtone under the previous one… and a bit of a mind twister… so it would be great to have a dedicated tool that would make things more straight forward.

OOOOPS correction! It seems it has no need for firmware update, since it has an added detune option. FANTASTIC! We can dial in whatever interval we want!
