    Hi Everyone,

After reading through the manual, I still cannot figure out how to get two EHX9500 devices to loop, running on the same tempo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Here is my current arrangement:

With my 1st EHX9500 in XT (normal external clock mode) as the Midi Master & the green ext. clock button solid (not flashing),

And my 2nd EHX9500 showing 01.IN on the MIDI channel sync page (no green light underneath the ext. clock button),

They appear to both run on the same tempo.

However, the red LED lights (located underneath the word ‘tempo’) on the on the left-hand side both blink at the same time,

But the red LED lights on the right-hand side are out of sync. (P.S. As I was about to make this forum post, I noticed both L&R lights were flashing in sync with my current arrangement. I attempted a loop and now they’re both out of sync not even on the left side. lol)

When I switch to the bars/beats page and press new loop on the MIDI Master, it does not record or playback said loop.

If someone could please indicate where I have made an error it would be greatly appreciate. I attempted the tutorial in the manual on page 32 instructs, but I’m pretty hopeless. Thanks in advance for the input.

    Kind Regards, VanHarte

I have some questions to help troubleshoot the issue you’re having with syncing two 95000s:

    1. Do you have the MIDI Cable connected to MIDI OUT on the 2nd unit (the unit where the EXT. CLOCK button is not lit)? Do you have the MIDI Cable connected to MIDI IN on the 1st unit (where the EXT. CLOCK button is lit green)?

    2. You mention “the red LED lights on the right-hand side are out of sync.” Which LEDs are these exactly?

    3. Pressing NEW LOOP does not immediately begin recording a loop. Pressing NEW LOOP puts the 95000 into record-ready mode. You have to press the RECORD FSW after pressing NEW LOOP to actually start loop recording?

    4. Do you have QUANTIZE enabled on both units? You really need to enable Quantize to obtain loops that remain in sync and locked to each other between the units. Even though the loops tempos would remain in sync, if the loop lengths are slightly off then the loops will slowly fall out of sync with each other each time they cycle.

Hi Flick thanks heaps for the response.

    1. MIDI master cables gos out to in, and vice versa, so yes I believe the cable situation is fine.

    2. Red LEDs I’m referring to are underneath the word tempo on the top of the devices.

    3. I press new loop and then record button, and then record stop, but it is to no avail.

    4. I did not have quantize on, as I was hoping the loop length would remain the same as & in sync with however long the 1st new loop is (which is how I use the 9500 when it’s just one device). I will give it another attempt with quantize on and see how I go…

    Thanks! Vanharte

    1. You only need one MIDI cable for this setup. A second MIDI cable could screw up things for the 95000s. Connect the MIDI cable from the master clock’s MIDI OUT to the slave clock’s MIDI IN.

Haha omg sorry I thought it was like with audio cables requiring an input & output. Will try again now…

    Hi Flick, vanharte
I just bought a 2nd ehx 95000 and I have troubles to link them ;(
1st one: master, midi cable is connected to midi out, ext clock button is OFF, Midi chanel is OMNI IN
2nd one: slave, midi cable is plugget to midi IN, ext clock button is ON, Midi chanel is OMNI OUT

    I don’t use quantize mode
    I play without clic
I just want the 2 EHX to be linked, so the loops lenghts can be exactly the same, starts ans stops etc..
Please can you help and tell me the exact configuration I have to use?
    many thanks

PS: do I have to update the 2 firmwares to fix it?
