British invasion! Taking its roots from legendary British guitar amps, the English Muff'n recreates their majesty and classic tone with spot-on accuracy. Rather than approximating these amps like "emulator" products, the English Muff'n employs vacuum tubes to produce the richness and natural saturation of Brit-valve sounds. A bloody masterpiece!
"Its clean tones are nothing but inspiring. Delivers tea-riffic Brit-tones that turn your amp into a British classic." -- Art Thompson, Guitar Player

THE LETTER
Hello, dear Mr. Matthews!
My name is Enno. I am 27 years old. I live in Kiev, the country - Ukraine.
I play guitar in electro-rock band. For 2 years I use only your effect pedals.
From the first time I realized that the sound of Electro-Harmonix - is my sound, with whom I and my music will grow and develop. This weekend I bought a HOG pedal. Random. I went into the store and could not resist this pedal. On this day, I just got paid. So, I took all the money that I had and bought a HOG! On the way from the store to home I became upset, because completely no money left for the next month. But! When I turned on the HOG at home, I totally forgot about the money! I felt such joy as a child! Thats why I writing you this naive letter, like to Santa Claus! :-) Only emotions without etiquette!
Thank you for your work! Thank you for all the guitarists in the world music that I grew up!
Music - an integral part of my heart, and Electro-Harmonix - an integral part of music.
This means that you are also a part of my heart and running through my blood!
As soon as I could afford it, I immediately bought English Muff’n, then Echo #1, and now the HOG. I am sure they will be with me throughout my life. When I recovering from the financial impact by HOG, I will buy foot controller for it ... I think in winter :-)
Now I tell everyone Kiev musicians about the magnificence of HOG pedal. It turned out that none of my friends Ukrainian guitarists do not use HOG (should be noted that I know a lot of them and I live in the capital). And generally in Ukraine they know little about Electro-Harmonix and looks on your pedals as a sort of exotic pieces. I can not understand why this happens ...
In Ukraine, there is only one normal store, where you can buy EHX units. The most that I can do - is to tell about Electro-Harmoniks as many people as I can. That’s what I’m doing. I hope so, I take little part in your great work!
So! I sincerely thank you for what you have! What you do not given up! What continues to make for all of us as old and new devises! I wish you good health! And keep rocking! The world needs you and your team!
Greetings from Ukraine!
Sincerely yours, Enno Koyalo.
P.S. I think that this letter is unlikely to reach Mike Matthews, but sent it anyway! I think that Mr. Matthews would be pleased to read it - is unlikely to come from the Ukraine a lot of letters. Thanks to the whole Electro-Harmonix team! You are cool!

John Frusciante's comments on the
English Muff'n in the April 2009 issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine: "The Electro-Harmonix English Muff'n tube fuzz has some really extreme EQ and a big, thick and meaty sound. I used it on the solo for 'Enough Of Me.' I turn the EQ up, but leave my

guitar tone knobs down and use either the middle or neck pickup so the original source sound is really dark and plain. If you blast the tone controls on the effect, you get a really thick, beautiful sound that reminds me of an exaggerated Eric Clapton tone in cream, where you have this really smooth fuzz."
In addition to the English Muff'n, John has also toured and recorded with the Micro Synthesizer, Big Muff Pi (both USA and Russian), POG, Metal Muff, HOG, Holy Grail, and Deluxe Electric Mistress. That said, I'm sure you fru-heads are still going to email and tell me what I left out.
A short excerpt from the documentary film "Fuzz: The Sound That Revolutionized The World" in which Electro-Harmonix founder Mike Matthews tells the story of EHX's first product, the
LPB-1.
Mike also reveals the origins of "Muff," which we take care to use very sparingly: Bass Big Muff Pi, Big Muff Pi, Big Muff Pi (Russian), Double Muff, English Muff'n, Little Big Muff Pi, Metal Muff, Micro Metal Muff, Muff Overdrive, and Pocket Metal Muff (all featured in our Distortion, Fuzz, Overdrive category).
The clip also features Chris Ross (Wolfmother) and ends with J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) showing off his unbelievable Big Muff Pi collection.
