A common complaint about the Freeze pedal is that the switch is mechanically noisy.

A super easy fix, which I just did, is to use a momentary SPST “soft-touch” normally open switch, available for a few dollars from Small Bear electronics (and others).  The pedal is vastly quieter and feels nicer too.

Here’s a site that shows the mod,

and here are some photos of my pedal on the work bench.

hi there this is great!, do you think this mod would work with a memory boy? of course this uses a different switch so would have to find out what it is.

I don’t think this would work with a Memory Boy, because the Freeze mod uses a momentary switch.  Perhaps there’s a non momentary soft touch switch you can use, though.

I found a small video on youtube where you can see all the steps clearly!

I added an external foot switch to mine. (added it where the switch would be so as not to drill more holes in the case.

Might be a be at risk or getting kicked on a pedal board, unless I get an angled jack for the sustain pedal.
