Just got back from seeing Eric Bibb and thought I’d start a thread about recent gigs.

Were they any good?

I haven’t seen anyone this year yet, but I’m sure things will pick up no we are heading into summer.

Last band I was was Motorhead in november last year… and yeah they still as good as ever. Got to see The Damned again too (who were supporting) so it was a good night.. last year I also saw ... Supersuckers, Nashville Pussy, Bob Mould, Brendan Benson, Wildhearts, Swervedriver and probably few others that I can’t recall right now, I usually try to see at least one band every couple of months. I like a lot of American bands though so it really depends if (and when) they come over to the UK.

Last show was Them Crooked Vultures in Charlotte, NC and it was great. Me and another bearded guy almost killed this one dude though. Way too drunk and annoying so early in the show. Prior to that was Monster Magnet in NJ. Next one will be Lightning Bolt in July. Last summer I saw My Bloody Valentine, Shudder To Think, and TV on the Radio within a one week span.

Got to see The Damned again too (who were supporting) so it was a good night..

Saw Rat Scabies and Brian James supporting ‘Eagles of Death Metal’ recently.

They were so loud that I now have permanent tinnitus!

lol, what are they up to? they don’t play in The Damned anymore, it’s just The Captain and Dave left of the originals. I did really enjoy the Damned though, they played a lot of the old Psych and garage stuff… they did a few covers of songs off those ‘nuggets’ albums and ‘Eloise’ sounded really good these days.

It was a short set. Mainly ‘instrumental’. Just guitar and drums. He had 2 Tele’s and 2 old Marshall stacks that were DEFINITELY turned up to 11! It was a small venue too. He snapped the strings on his first guitar and had to play his spare. My eardrums will never be the same again (seriously!).

The Eagles of Death Metal all came out and joined them for ‘New Rose’ which was pretty cool

I recently saw Taking Back Sunday with their “original” lineup! it was great! and it was the first time i ever crowd surfed! the people that put me up was a group of these huge guys, and they threw me soooo far, because i’m really skinny and there were like five people that threw me. i feel really bad because i accidentally kicked people in the face when i came down after they threw me because i hit them really hard

and i just saw Minus The Bear! they were really good! except when i was crowd surfing, i lost my phone  but some girl found it, handed it to the security guard, and they gave it back to me (i’m so glad that my friend who i was with knows the security guard, or i would have never gotten my phone back!)

I just got Black Keys tickets! Really excited/looking forward to seeing those guys play. Hopefully I’ll catch a glimpse of Dan Auerbach’s board.

That must’ve been great.  How about Shellac, did that happen yet? I saw them at the Unitarian Church in Philly maybe a year and a half ago and it was excellent. Shellac may be my favorite band all-time. Them or Barkmarket.
