I know what you mean.
To me it seems like a Frequency Analyzer with more bells and whistles.
Very impressive bells and whistles mind you.
I just dunno where I’d use it in my setup,
I already find it hard justifying the inclusion of the F.A. on my pedalboard.

Whoa. For my uses, I could replace my Freq Analyzer, Tuna Melt trem and microPog with this one pedal. Bill’s vid made this pedal go from ‘I’m interested’ to ‘I’m selling Mom’s jewelry.’

yeah um Bill is a wizard… i went from “whatever” to “that’s so awesome”

good job, Bill… now i want it angry  LOL

Bill indeed is a magician!

Me too looked at the Ring Thing kinda like “great pedal if i was Paul McCartney and money wouldn’t count”. Very good video.

And - i like Electro Harmonix’ aim to build a very special pedal, then put loads of ways to alter the effect into it and finally come up with a multiFX pedal where it’s up to me to find the sound!

very unique!

if only i was McCartney!

Any idea if this can be used as a harmonizer as well? And if so could I get minor 3rds?

To me I see it as a polyphonic whammy that also does ring modulation

Very interesting…I’m curious, does the tune switch ‘gliss’ from the untuned note when pressed, or is it instant? A smooth, organic transition would sound nice.

If I understand the manual correctly, is it possible to continually hold down the tune switch as you (monophonically) play? If so, when does the effect decide to ‘update’ to the current note being played? Is there a noticeable lag in this case?

Thanks! Leave it to EHX to make me genuinely interested in a ring modulation effect. :D

Thanks friedjesseradio.
You will find this pedal is VERY musical and not the old fashion computer noise ring modulator.
The pitch shift in is the best EHX has ever had.
I am a studio musician living in Chicago,so I don’t work at the EHX factory.
The 800 miles each way dive every day would kill me:-)

I will stay here in Chicago and do studio work.
Have fun!
Bill
