I would be using it after my distortion and overdrive pedals…can it just boost the signal for lead work? Thanks in advance.

i think that is the point of this pedal.
I don’t know if you would call it clean, it does add a bit of mid/fatness to the sound. If you use it before overdrive/distortion it will boost the gain into those, last in the chain will simply boost the volume.
