hey, guys smile can some fuzz-fan help me?

i’m selling my sovtek big muff because i can’t really have a pedal on my board that can get lost in a mix of one bass and drums… and i need fuzz. So i’m looking for some new crazy box smile

i have 2 main candidates

1)Devi Ever Aenima

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPvABd1Zfiw&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qH8EV1jCSVY&feature=channel

exactly in the price range i’m looking for (even with the shipping overseas), sounds CRUSHING

2)Electronic Orange Dalek Attack!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HM51yO2Yy6o&feature=player_embedded

a bit more expensive than the Aenima, it’s a boutique clone of Maestro Superfuzz FZ-1S made by a guy from my country… less heavy and crazy, more pronounced i’d say

So what do you think? I’m looking for a really heavy, screaming fuzz without an octave (i have a green ringer clone) that doesn’t get lost in the mix and is in the price range somewhere around 100-130$.

I’m afraid that they will get lost in the mix… both are Si fuzzes (i think) :(

every opinion counts! thanks, guys…

Update… i kinda forgot that i love john frusciante’s fuzz tones… so DE Aenima is probably too modern… so…

The Dalek Attack? or should i seek for more of a Fuzz Face clone? i can get Si or Ge Fuzz Face copy from the same guy that makes Dalek Attack…

i’m lost in my mind

yes they are both good, But if I was going to get something like that it would have to be the EHX Metal Muff, an awesome bit of kit

Brianzero: The Metal Muff is truly cool, but i’m looking for a fuzz, not a distortion. i’m absolutely happy with my Jekyll&Hyde;)

JoeyJunior13: it is completely different sound-wise from what i want, i think. Plus it’s too expensive

i would say fuzz face but ive never tried one although if it wasnt that damn circle shape i might consider it for mysellf

that sounds like a good idea smile i can get the Fuzz Face clone in normally shaped box so the rounded box isn’t really a trouble here… i think that i’d love more the silicon version, from all the fuzz demos i’ve ever seen, the germanium may not be really my thing

on wednesday my friend is going to borrow me his Maestro fuzz clone (slightly different from the Dalek attack, but nevermind)... i’ll start there smile

thanks for the Fuzz face opinion

Hey, what about Graphic fuzz? for the features i could spend some extra bucks smile at least i hope i’d have them… whatever

what do you think? could i emulate some nice thicker fuzz with it?

and it’s EHX! :D

edit: guys i’d really appreciate your help… please?

OR SERIOUSLY…
the NYC Muff… doesn’t it get lost in the mix? is it good ‘nuff for the Frusciante type of sounds (since Johns uses the NYC muff… well…)?

to tell you the truth, im not too fond of the fuzz factory, although its versitile, if you arent looking for a noise maker, and just fuzz, thats not the place to look for one. I’d either suggest an mxr fuzz or a devi ever pedal, all their fuzzes sound great

Two birds with one stone there, brilliant EQ sculpting tool avec sweet sweet fuzz.
My money’d go on the Graphic Fuzz quicker than you could say ‘Satisfaction.’  :metal:

yeah, well i’m gonna get me a boutique Fuzz Face clone, the silicon one. I always wanted to try fuzz face and the boutique clone is gonna be cheaper than the new dunlop, so it’s a no-brainer.

i guess it can be cool… it should arrive in two-three weeks, i’ll post my opinion then

edit: frankly - i’m not gonna get a Graphic fuzz because i don’t have enough money

it’S loud, very bright and absolutely awesome smile the sustain is incredible, too and the added “modern/tight” pot sets the overall fuzziness and is very helpful in searching for the new sounds smile

it might be too bright for me… but i’m gonna fiddle with it today and we’ll see what sounds i can find

by the way… yeah, bright… i can’t imagine how could this pedal get lost in the mix :D

all in all - an awesome deal

edit: oh yeah… so there is a HUGE dfference with the buffer before it or when it’s first in the chain. with the buffer before, it’s way brighter, it cleans up more and it has slightly less compact sound i guess. When it’S first, it’S more muff-like, more compact and less bright with more sustain but it doesn’T clean up so well…

i think i like it more after the buffer… which is the exact placement of the pedal in this video!

yeah, so necromancy begins…

after all these months with my Moon Face, i purchased a crybaby and put it before the fuzz, mainly because of the lack of other options… but then i discovered the vintage-like-fuzz versus the crybaby madness and i wouldn’t move it anywhere else smile

anyway, why i’m posting… a friend of mine is actually working on a Fuzz Factory clone - i wanted to try some more “synth-like” fuzz, something really crazy. so there are two possible scenarios right now -

a) i’ll keep both and use the moon face with lower “fuzz settings” stacked with Catalinbread DLS
b) the fuzz factory will totally replace the moon face and i’ll use the money to get some new pedal… the Holy Grail wink

i’m actually really looking forward to try the fuzz factory for a reasonable price… if i like it, i’ll keep it, if i don’t, i’ll sell it again and… get the Holy Grail… yeah

sorry for the probably most redundant post ever… i should start a blog, huh…
