what’s that wierd socket on the side, is that standard??

heres mine. that socket is the power cord jack. it looks violently unsafe, hahah.

Yeah it came with an extension cord looking wire that plugs right into it.
It looks proprietary at first glance, but it obviously can be replaced with something else if need be.

oh yeah of course, it looks even stranger to a Brit used to 3 pin mains power…..yeah it does look really unsafe!! LOL! 

The first AC-powered EH pedal!  Just fixed one of those for a guy in Sweden.  Man, you can really get some wacky sounds out of them. 

They used that chassis until the late 70’s/early 80’s then they went to the Memory Man-style chassis.  EHX used my original 80’s Frequency Analyzer as a model for the reissue.  I remember that they sent it back when they were finished then Mike called me and said they needed it back to copy the artwork.

I have 2 of these ... if you put a 2-to-3 prong adapter on the socket you can then use a regular modern american (made in China) type extention cord. One for mine has the oridignal cord as I bought it new in 1978. The other is from the same tine and I bought it form the original owner w/o the power cord. They sound VERY similar, and both work and are used more than you think !!! Try ‘em on a drum or hi-hat track and filter out the “counter tone ... sweet !!!

Never saw one with a ststus light bebore or with knobs tike those ... mine have the flat black knobe and a regular stomp swicth !!!

it looks like the LED has been added, and the knobs aren’t originals…..I suspect someone changed the footswitch because they were using it with a keyboard or something.

Aren’t you the lucky one, getting personal phone calls from Mike, using your pedals. LOL (I wish I lived in America sometimes)

Oh definitely, EHX lives in America, Fender lives in America….but then again so does Charles Manson!

I posted a question about this in the tech board but I’ll try here too. I have one of these and have no power cord. As someone said I want to use an 3-2 prong adapter and an extension cord, but I can’t tell what’s positive or negative. Can I do damage to the pedal if I guess the wrong polarity?
