I am thinking about getting a Deluxe Big muff over my Black Russian and My Little Big Muff.

What do you Think?

Thanks,

Don’t give away the russian. It’s discontinued and it’s great. I’ll always keep mine. That’s my 2 cent.

Three completely different Muffs. The Deluxe Big Muff is almost the same circuit as the V4/V5 op-amp Big Muff, only with the Soul Preacher compressor added. It is a cool sounding unit, but very different from the Sovtek and the LBM tone. If you go for one, try and find the series/parallel switch version rather than the blend switch version. It is the better of the two IMO.

I agree.  I love my russian.

Which muff is the “deluxe” muff?  Do you mean the BMP with tone wicker?

I couldn’t get rid of the russian, and the Little big muff would go on stand by.

I really love the tone of the deluxe with the compression and threshold.
An old buddy of mine had one that I would use in a past music project and I just started playing guitar in my band so I am reigniting the fire for that fuzz that I once had.

I am looking to obtain one… They are just hard to come by on ebay and craigslist.

If anyone has any other means, let me know.

Thanks,
Trae

Bear in mind that there are 2 different versions of Deluxe Big Muffs - the one with the Blend switch, and the one with the Series/Parallel switch.

I’ve owned both, and ended up selling the Blend switch version and kept the Series/Parallel version.

The Series/Parallel version allows you to place the compressor in front of the fuzz in a series, which makes for some outrageous sustain. If you can hold out for one of these versions, it’s worth the wait.

However, you can always mod the Blend switch version if you are daring http://hammer.ampage.org/files/Device1-7.PDF

Definitely worth holding out for the series/parallel version. They show up on ebay every so often. Set an automatic search so emay emails you when they show up.

Does anyone have a pic of Parallel Series….  I’ve looked and only came across the Blend?

I want to see the Physical Difference in the set up of the pedal.

I just picked up a Black Face Deluxe Big Muff with the series/parallel switch in a trade.  I don’t have a use for it so if anybody is interested I’m up for a good old pedal trade or even sell it outright.  If that kind of stuff is not allowed on this board I apologize.  Hit me up here or at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
