Hüsker Dü is awesome. . . the guitar and singing are pretty abrasive, but once you get used to it. . . they rock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-TccVzt0gU

This is hard for me to answer. . . favorite guitarist. . .

It’d probably be one of the following:

Roger Miller (Mission of Burma)
Ian Mackaye (Fugazi)
Guy Picciotto (Fugazi, Happy Go Licky, Rites of Spring, One Last Wish)
Andy Gill (Gang of Four)
Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth)
Damon Che (Thee Speaking Canaries)
Ash Bowie (Polvo)
Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath)
Adrian Belew (mainly for his work with David Bowie, Brian Eno, and the Talking Heads)
Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine)
Tom Verlaine (Television)

I don’t know. . . it’s just so hard to answer.  I like all these different styles.

hard to say…

well i have a big boycrush on Steven Wilson, but that’s because i see him as a great musician altogether - not just a guitarist

then i’d probably go with Dave Gilmour… i learned alot from listening to his stuff

then Steve Vai i think smile

Yamaha 302S -> Crybaby -> Electronic Orange Moon Face -> EHX Stereo Polyphase -> Catalinbread DLS -> F5 Tap Tremolo -> Carl Martin Red Repeat -> EHX SMMH -> George Dennis Mighty Mouse 1x12

Too many, but if I had to pick one I always enjoy listening to it would be Sir David Gilmour.

Edge. Andy Summers. Robin Guthrie. Kevin Shields. Archer Prewitt.  -  guitarists who approach their art more like landscape painting.

I also love the fancier finger-work of Lindsay Buckingham,  James Honeyman-Scott, and Elliot Easton.
