He was a space alien, so he doesn’t count. smile

Indeed.

Hendrix is the epitome of the electric guitar, as if he was born with it attached to his body.

I have most of his albums, and as much as I love Hendrix, I really don’t listen to his music that often anymore. His songwriting, sense of melody and harmony, and singing are far less epic than his guitar playing. When it all adds up, I’m usually in the mood to listen to something else because I don’t always listen to music just for the guitar playing.

....anyway I thought this thread was about our favorites, not ‘the best’ or whatever?

I would never claim that Bob Mould is the greatest guitarist or even up there with the greats like Hendrix ..... but he’s still my favorite. :rawk:

Billy Duffy

He looked so cool when I was a kid in the 80’s. He made me want to play guitar. 20+ years later and I still think I’m him when I close my eyes on stage!  :metal:

I have chosen these players for there originality and different approach to guitar playing, In no particualr order:

John frusciante (red hot chili peppers, ataxia, the mars volta (not officially in the mars volta but does alot of studio work, and sometimes live stuff)

omar rodriguez lopez (at the drive in, the mars volta, numerous solo works and colaberations)

Larry lalonde (primus)

The guitar players from Minus the bear (dont know there names)

mike einziger (incubus)

adam jones (tool)

jimi hendrix

Once again these are in no particular order, and there are probably many that i have completely forgotten about
