For gigging I’ve got an old Vox AC30 from the seventies and a Fender Bassman reissue.
For home playing, there’s nothing better than the fart box that is my beloved Fender Champ 600.
I love that thing more than the other two.

Three cheers for the Champ 600! smile

Wahey!
Those things rock.

I cant wait till I get my new amp (it will be a while though), a 100watt JCM 800 half stack! Typically i don’t like Marshalls but I do like this one a shit load and I cant afford a Mesa triple rectifier so its kinda a compromise.Until then, I play my twin reverb.

Jeez, I wish I had a life where a JCM 1/2-stack was a compromise!  rolleyes

Seriously, congrats, I’m sure it’ll sound sweet. Let us know how it works out.  :metal:

Seriously, I’m poor as shit and on the doll! But once I get something in my head, I keep at it till I get it…saving does wonders…actually, hoarding your money does more!

Almost every bit of gear I have I have bought on the doll…my vintage mustang, my jaguar my twin reverb etc etc.

You can own almost anything if you just save! And considering there’s only three more pedals I’m buying, and they aren’t expensive, i will have no problem saving for it.

And some shocking news: I’m not buying big muffs anymore, I figure the 13 I have is overkill so I’ll leave it at that….unless i see a stoopidly cheap deal on a early 90’s sovtek or something then i’ll make an exception, but if that doesn’t happen, my muff collection is finished AFAIC! I have the best of the best muffs so anything else is a downgrade IMO!

For my bassplaying I mainly use my Mesa Boogie Bass 400+. For my fooling around with guitar I use a Marshall Artist 3203.

I use a Roland JC-55. It is probably not powerful enough for bass signals, but it sounds fine to me - I need a quieter practice amp that I can crank. I bought it for one reason: that chorus. There is NO other chorus in the world that sounds like the Roland Jazz Chorus series, and I actually prefer the lower-watt amps to the 120, because although I cannot get a vibrato-only setting, I can adjust the rate of the chorus on the 55. I think it works well with the normally uncooperative (in a good way) Polychorus.

sovtek.jpg

found it on a great bargain on Ebay… i just love this little giant
Lots of headroom for my pedals to work and it came with some weird but very sweeeeeeeeeeet sounding russian radar tubes( nah i m just saying, dont really know if they came from a radar!) which i m gonna ride for as long as i can, before changing them for EHX ones…
Goes well with my Orange cab (4x12 with V30s) and it is as loud as the golden voice of socialism…

needless to say that along with the russian muff you can create the best stoney doom low-end heaviness

it’s just me and my stoney lonesome

My main amp is a Gallien-Krueger 150 ML/E. I love it because it has an amazing clean sound. Seems I’m always using pedals for distortion so I was looking for a rich bright clean tone amp and this one only takes up a little more than half a rack space. I had to buy a spacer to fill in the rest of the single rack space around it. It’s about the size of my Cable Modem, lol. Purchased it new in ‘91 and haven’t had to touch it. I plug it into a stereo Marskall 1960A cabinet and it is all I could ever ask for. (I use a SGX2000 preamp)

I bought my son a small practice amp that I have used on occasion (in church), it’s a Marshall MG15CDR. It works fine well with my Ovation.

Former amps: Sears 5w (had to start somewhere), Gibson, Fender Twin Reverb, Peavy Classic Chorus, Peavy Bandit 65, Crate, KMD, Marshall JCM800, Laney, GK Combo.
