Here’s how I by-passed the tone stack on my NYC BMP RI.

This mod adds a lot of versitility to the unit.  Incidentaly, I completed this mod before I had heard that the new Tone Wicker was coming out.

Nope, just tried it a few times again, nothing. Don’t matter as there’s only so many ways to bypass a tonestack and I can assume from using a DPDT that he has TB’d it or is just using half of it and is doing it the same way as my tonestack mod. Never mind!

I checked yours, Ned, and I am by-passing only the pot.  I didn’t mess with the caps at all.

The link is to a google web doc, I don’t know why it won’t work for you.  Is it just giving you a blank screen or what?  You have to maximize the screen that pops up in order to advance the slides.  Do you have your pop up blocker on?

Anyway, I like the way you did it.

In the original BMP, the Tone Bypass switch replaced all the tone circuitry with a 100K resistor.

Here’s a mod for the old style Bass Micro Synth for true bypass. I assume it works just fine for the guitar synth as well.

This is a drawing another forum user at Talkbass made, and my pedal tech used it accordingly, however there’s a mistake we discovered.

Now, where it says “discard” on that brown wire, DON’T DO THAT! Instead, make that wire connect on the switch where the green wire is connected in the diagram. Then, discard the green wire.

This is just what he’s told me, I can get more detailed instructions if necessary. Basically just rewire the switch for how it is there, with those 2 wires switched up.

Small Stone Blend control: http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1095
i’ve been meaning to try this for a while but haven’t really felt the need yet.

i might be getting a small stone soon for a great price and i want to mod it, but the one i’m getting is one of the reissues, anyone know if this blend mod applies to the new one as well as the one in the quoted link?

I TB’d my micro synth, I shoulda done a nice diagram for people before I sold it. All you do is bypass the preamp that the bypassed signal goes through, pretty simple and to find out which wire to discard you just need a multi meter. I might redraw this diagram for people BTW.

It’s not even my diagram, its just what I had found and given to my repair guy. Feel free to redraw it.
